Doelstelling van Stichting Care for Children :
A Het ontwikkelen van activiteiten en het realiseren van projecten ten behoeve van arme en verwaarloosde ( en veelal gehandicapte ) kinderen in weeshuizen in Azië en met name de
Filipijnen, teneinde de levensomstandigheden van deze kinderen te verbeteren en hun toekomstmogelijkheden te vergroten; B Het ter beschikking stellen van middelen en het leveren van hulp bij natuurrampen (zoals typhoons en overstromingen) in het werkgebied van de onder A genoemde weeshuizen;

De van de doelstelling afgeleide plannen voor de jaren 2024 en 2025 betreffen:
A Werkbezoeken door specialisten uit Nederland aan met name de 2 weeshuizen - RSCC ( Reception Study Centre for Children) en - AMOR Village waar in totaal ca 150 -200 kinderen en jong volwassenen verblijven
De specialisten adviseren onder meer hoe de juiste behandelingen toegepast kunnen worden bij de veelal meervoudig gehandicapte kinderen en jong volwassenen teneinde de leefomstandigheden te optimaliseren. Dit resulteert vaak in het door de Stichting ter beschikking stellen van de juiste materialen ( oefenmateriaal maar bijv ook douchebrancards, tilliften, rolstoelen en bedden) zodat dagprogramma’s geoptimaliseerd kunnen worden. B Werkbezoek door leiding van de 2 weeshuizen in de Filipijnen aan Nederland. ( planning april 2025)
Aangezien de stand van de verzorging, begeleiding en opvang van gehandicapten in Nederland hoger ligt dient het als voorbeeld voor implementatie bij de weeshuizen in de Filipijnen. Met name ook de inschakeling van gehandicapten in het arbeidsproces ( speciale winkels, tuinarbeid, verbouwen van eigen groenten ea produkten, eenvoudig naaiwerk e.d.) helpt de weeshuizen meer zelfsupporting te maken hetgeen weer een voorbeeldfunktie is voor andere weeshuizen in de Filipijnen. Dit werkbezoek komt tot stand na en in goed overleg met Ministry of welfare van de Filipijnen. Op de hiervoor genoemde punten A en B ligt de focus voor 2024 en 2025
Inkomsten
Inkomsten worden verkregen uit:
A Het bekendmaken van de Stichting en haar activiteiten via de web site https://careforchildrenfoundation.com/ en het delen van gebeurtenissen en informatie via social media zoals facebook e.a. B Verzenden van de jaarlijkse “Christmas Letter “aan allen die sinds de oprichting van de Stichting hun steun hebben verleend
C Een ruime groep van familie, vrienden, bekenden en relaties. Besteding en beheer van vermogen
Ontvangen donaties worden aangehouden als liquide middelen op de bankrekening. Beleggingen, in welke vorm dan ook, zijn niet van toepassing. Ontvangen donaties worden vrijwel geheel in hetzelfde jaar uitgekeerd en aangewend voor uitgaven in het kader van de doelstelling. In overleg met de leiding van de weeshuizen worden jaarlijks prioriteiten gesteld met betrekking tot deze uitgaven. Vervolgens geeft het Bestuur de finale goedkeuring mede op basis van de beschikbare middelen. Organisatie
De Stichting Care For Children heeft een bestuur, bestaande uit drie leden, te weten:

De heer P.J.M. Cornelissen, woonachtig in de Philipijnen onderhoudt reeds vele jaren de directe contacten met de leiding van de weeshuizen en met de betrokken overheidsorganisaties zoals DSWD. In 2013 ontving hij een Award van het ministerie van Social Welfare voor zijn jarenlange inspanningen en support in “providing a better opportunity for the disadvantaged sectors”. Beloningsbeleid

De Stichting Care for Children werd opgericht op 3 oktober 2011. De Stichting heeft ten doel:
A: het ontwikkelen van activiteiten en het realiseren van projecten ten behoeve van arme en verwaarloosde (en veelal gehandicapte ) kinderen in weeshuizen in Azië en met name de
Philipijnen, teneinde de levensomstandigheden van deze kinderen te verbeteren en hun
toekomstmogelijkheden te vergroten;
B: het ter beschikking stellen van middelen en het leveren van hulp bij natuurrampen ( zoals

Staat van baten en lasten
De ontvangen donaties betreffen de in 2023 ontvangen bijdragen en giften van bedrijven, instellingen en privé personen. In verband met de Corona epidemie hebben er in 2020 en 2021 geen werkbezoeken aan de weeshuizen kunnen plaatsvinden. In oktober 2022 is het weer mogelijk geweest om een van onze gespecialiseerde therapeuten uit te zenden voor een werkbezoek bij de weeshuizen AMOR en RSCC. Ook in december van 2023 is een van onze kinderfysiotherapeuten bij de weeshuizen geweest en zijn ter plaatse ook aangepaste rolstoelen en andere hulpmiddelen aangeschaft door onze zusterorganisatie in de Philipijnen waartoe Care for Children de financiële middelen heeft verschaft. Care For Children (the Netherlands) and Nurture the Children Foundation Pampanga (the Philippines) are nonprofit organizations with the mission to help take care of orphans (children and special children) in Pampanga, the Philippines. Today, we are often constrained to our own domestic affairs. We think about our own future with hopes and expectations. Citizens in a developing country suffer much more. They have to fight for their everyday needs and have few resources to struggle against their extreme poverty. The most affected circles of the Philippines are children. They are victims of neglect, abuse and abandonment. They might have been forgotten by their own communities and governments but not by everyone…
What originally started out as a group of friends coming together to make a donation for some food supplies twenty-five years ago, has given birth to a much bigger professional project and we are now proud to announce that we have a foundation called “Nurture the Children Foundation of Pampanga” in the Philippines. Its sole purpose is to improve the lives of children aged from 0 to 18 in orphanages around that area. In 2011 alone, and on account of several donations, both the Home for Girls and the Home for Boys in Tarlac, under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have been blessed with a brand new water installation providing the children with fresh and more importantly clean water. In addition to this, the Home for Girls has also been given a brand new canteen and their once extremely basic toilets have been fully renovated. By virtue of one of our faithful supporters’ birthday wish donations, this same “Home” has been bestowed a brand new kitchen and dining area. Owing to other donations, two specialists have been flown over from Holland (they use their own holidays to help, support and work with local staff for some 14 days) and held an independent workshop with the orphanage staff members of four different orphanages for children with special needs. To top it all off, beds and special toys have been contributed to them as well. In short, 2011 has been a good year but there is still so very much that needs to be done. Together we can fulfill our duties and cherish human life. Let’s continue building the bonds of friendship and support, through cooperation and mutual respect. By joining our foundation, you can help us provide these children with safer, healthier and ordinary lives. After all, shouldn’t that be the very basic necessities offered to all children? If you would like to help us improve these children’s lives, please donate monetary funds to the foundation. We welcome you to follow our progress and invite your suggestions. Thank you all for taking the time to join us and support our beginnings. Our foundation started as a result of a group of friends and clients of Far East Furniture visiting the Philippines and observing the children’s lack of basic needs and requirements. These men began donating basic needs in Angeles City, in the Philippines. As time went by, the mayor of Lubao, (one of Pampanga’s districts) donated a piece of land to the DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development). This land had the potential of being a great attribute for the children but without the necessary funds, it seemed to be a lost cause. Again, this group of friends agreed to raise the money in order to build, in collaboration with the DSWD, a number of buildings for these children to live in and the DSWD to manage. To this day, it has slowly transformed into an orphanage with 5 cottages for the children to live in, 8 buildings, a multi purpose hall, a playground, a swimming pool, a kitchen and dining area, mini library and office. This particular location has bloomed into a safe haven to children from 0-7 years of age, some with severe physical and/or mental challenges. They continued to expand their cause with the support of families, friends and clients helped finish other neglected Filipino constructions. They have added desperately required technical appliances, to assist several welfare houses (home to neglected and/or abused children aged from 7 to 15 and 16 to 18) and ease everyday demands. Vans have been purchased to help bring these children to and back from school. And many more dire situations have been repaired and improved. As the years have passed, they have targeted their help primarily on children with mental and/or physical challenges due to the overwhelming amount of the latter present in these social care facilities. This cause has grown into a newly formed foundation called Nurture the Children Foundation of Pampanga, Inc. . It has concentrated its focus on facilitating the lives of those in need. This is accomplished by investing 100% of all donations directly into these causes and projects without any deduction of additional costs whatsoever. We now direct our attention in children with mental and physical challenges. We have introduced new methods of care to the home’s staff and nurses such as musical therapy in children’s development , therapy for building self-confidence of children with trauma and support for abused children. We have flown in European professionals to share their knowledge with these welfare centers as well as special equipment to aid and ameliorate children’s daily bathing and feeding routines. Our goals and projects for the next coming years continue to multiply. We are now in the process of building laundry areas and beds for the Home for Girls in Tarlac. Nutritionists from Europe have been invited to share the latest discoveries and train the staff nurses on how to remedy children with growing challenges. Therapists from Holland will be brought to these centers to educate staff in physical rehabilitation for children who face severe physical challenges. We are currently working on new projects to help reintegrate these children with special needs back into society through a new daycare program allowing them to discover, develop, encourage and eventually utilize these skills. Thereby allowing these forgotten members of these communities to regain self-confidence and eventually earn modest salaries. We are a highly motivated foundation, investing all donations in full directly into these children’s needs. We are proud to say that we have accomplished so much already but there is a lot more that needs to be addressed. Together with your help, we can stretch our help out a little further and expand our aid to more children in the Philippines. We can make a difference, even if they are small steps…even if it means helping theses children out, one at a time. Please help us help them.
