Another inspiring School Project coming up in Kenya’s Kilifi County in Ganze. ChildsLife will not tire to go to the very communities that are destitute and in need of education support. We continue to believe that every child has a right to basic education.

As the FGM culture continues to be a big threat in Kenya’s Kuria community, we remain relentless in our efforts to fight the vice. Since the year began, we have reached out to more than 1,500 members of the community through our FGM sensitization forums. We are also sensitizing more than 800 girls in schools. This being an even year, cutting is expected to take place towards the end of the year among the Kuria people. But with undeterred attention, we believe that we will be able to rescue more school girls in the region from undergoing the cut and safeguard their future. We have our active team on the ground, and a series of able stakeholders working with us to make all this achievable.

🏫 933 students benefitting from school renovations and vocational training
🌿 Greenhouses and kitchen gardens at 6 schools
🐐 New herds of goats for schools in Kenya
🏥 45 patients daily at our clinic in Oloropil, Kenya
🌱 1,400 people in Romania with food support
📚 382 children in our AnneNoor Education Centers in Romania

Today ChildsLife joins the rest of the world to commemorate the Day of the African Child. For 30 years, we have generously supported children in Africa with shelter, food, education, basic care among other essential services. We believe that every child has a right to live a modest life irrespective of their race, religion or background. And at ChildsLife, we will gladly continue to create chances for children in Africa and beyond.

Another cohort of 38 mothers get to graduate in our Live Learn Earn Program in Kenya’s Mukuru informal settlement. This represents another 38 Families transformed after a year of great support and empowerment. Well, we chose to be intentional with the mothers, they trusted the process, and now we trust that it will only get better from here for themselves, their children and their families.

Mothers in our Live Learn Earn Program in Kibera Kenya graduate after a successful year. This year we get to graduate 28 Mothers who represent 28 Families in the marginalized informal settlement. These Mothers are now not only educated but economically empowered and fit to fend for their children and families. Over the years, our LLE Program has provided a safe space, social support and given a platform for economic self-reliance. Many thanks to all our supporters and well-wishers for continually helping us transform families and putting a smile on them, one at a time.

The recent heavy rains that pounded several parts of Kenya triggered floods that killed more than 50 people across the country, destroyed homes, cut off roads and displaced over 50,000 people from their homes.
In our Live Learn Earn Mothers Program in Nairobi’s Kibera and Mukuru slums, over 30 mothers and their children were affected with their homes flooded and property swept away. Many seek refuge in schools, churches and a few others hosted by friends.
With the generous support of well wishers, we have been able to visit and provide food stuff, blankets and mattresses to some of the affected families. We are profoundly grateful to all who have made this possible.

Devastating floods in Kenya have already claimed more than 50 lives and left at least 50,000 people homeless. Entire neighbourhoods are under water and families have lost everything.
In Nairobi’s Kibera and Mukuru slums, 30 mothers from the ChildsLife Live Learn Earn hiv Mothers Program and their children are among those affected. Many have sought shelter in schools and churches.
ChildsLife is providing emergency support with food, clean water, hygiene supplies, mattresses and blankets.
