Applications are now open for Catalyst Academy

We invite young leaders and organizations to nominate and refer young changemakers for the upcoming cohort of the Catalyst Academy.

Designed for youth aged 18–35 from Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa, this youth social innovation learning program is delivered in partnership with the One Family Foundation and supported by the Mastercard Foundation. The initiative equips participants to become effective social entrepreneurs and community leaders through:

🔹Peer-to-peer learning and collaboration
🔹Tailored digital tools and resources
🔹Cross-border knowledge sharing

We strongly encourage applications from young women, persons with disabilities, and displaced youth.

That's a wrap for Catalyst Now Week 2026!

Over the past few days, hundreds of social innovators from across the globe have come together in more than 70 sessions to challenge the status quo - exploring shifting funding paradigms, climate resilience, and cross-sector collaborations that drive real systems change.

Spanning continents and time zones, this year's edition brought together diverse perspectives and ideas, showing the power of global collaboration in driving social innovation.

From the final day, we want to highlight a session that touched on important questions for all organisations and social innovators: Beyond the Grant: Putting Philanthropy’s Full Potential to Work. The session explored how philanthropy can offer much more than funding, including networks, influence, and convening power. Featuring Alka Bagri (Bagri Foundation), Subin Muraleedharan (CIFF), Chitkala Kalidas (Bayer Foundation), and Nadir Godrej (Godrej Industries), moderated by Karen, Countess Spencer (Co-chair, Catalyst Now), the discussion challenged us to rethink philanthropy's role in driving change.

Catalyst Now Week 2026 continued on Day 3 with a focus on Climate and Environment. We explored locally led solutions, climate resilience, agroecology, and circular economy practices driving environmental sustainability, with a regional focus on Africa.

The third day included powerful sessions like: Financing Climate-Health Resilience: An Asia Subnational Government Roundtable, Mitigation Actions to Counter Drug Abuse Among Youth - South Sudan, Circular Economy & Youth Resilience: Creative Tools in Emerging Markets, and many more!

In "When Funders Move Together: What Collective Action Can Unlock," speakers discussed some of the biggest barriers to systems change and explored what becomes possible when philanthropy acts together.

Catalyst Now Week 2026 opened on Day 1 with a focus on Funding, Finance and Shifting Funding Paradigms. We explored impact investment, blended finance, and practical frameworks to redistribute accountability and scale sustainable solutions.

The first day included powerful sessions like: The Missing Middle: Investing in What Holds the System Together, Design Solutions That Governments Want to Scale, Economía Solidaria en la Cotidianidad, and many more!

In "The Missing Middle: Investing in What Holds the System Together," our panel tackled mounting funding cuts and compounding global challenges like the climate crisis. Together, they addressed a fundamental question: How can philanthropy help locally led solutions reach scale without losing what makes them unique and effective?

In Pakistan, mental health gets less than 1% of the national healthcare budget, leaving millions to suffer in silence.

Breaking that silence takes collective infrastructure. Through the Catalyst Now Mental Health Alliance Pakistan, we teamed up with expert organizations to turn shared knowledge into youth-led action on the ground.

Led by The Project Su***de (TPS), the TPS Ambassadorship Program equips university students across Pakistan with gatekeeper skills, leadership training, and practical mental health tools, building a sustainable ecosystem of young change agents.
