This is the official page of The European International Model United Nations (TEIMUN).

Here you can read about all the updates on our conferences and stay in contact with your TEIMUN friends. The European International Model United Nations (TEIMUN Foundation) is a student organisation which aims to educate students on the workings of the United Nations. The Foundation organises several conferences and workshops throughout the year, and participates in other conferences to meet this goal.

🌟 We are excited to announce our 40th Board of Directors!

Hello everyone,

My name is Aditi, I’m a second-year International and European Law student, and I will be serving as the President of the 40th board of the TEIMUN Foundation.

As president, my primary responsibility is to oversee the board of directors and coordinate their efforts to organise GrunnMUN and TEIMUN 2027. Besides this, I am also responsible for facilitating the board’s communication with our other organs, the Secretariat and the Society, and I serve as the primary point of contact with respect to the foundation’s external affairs.

I look forward to collaborating with the Board and Secretariat to produce some excellent conferences, and I hope to see you all there!

The advanced committees are designed for experienced delegates who already understand parliamentary procedure, public speaking, and multilateral negotiation. These delegates have done multiple conferences (at least 4-5 MUN experiences) and are completely aware of all the rules and procedures. Often, the mandate of the council will be different from the beginner or intermediate committees and topics will include highly technical issues. The debate will be more challenging and at a faster pace in an advanced setting.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is the United Nations body tasked with maintaining international peace and security. It has 15 Member States of which 5 are permanent and have the ability to veto resolutions. The UNSC carries out the four purposes set out by the UN: to maintain international peace and security, to develop friendly relations among nations, to cooperate in solving international problems and in promoting respect for human rights, and to be a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations. The UNSC determines the existence of a threat to the peace or act of aggression. It can call upon parties to settle a dispute by peaceful means and recommends methods of adjustment or terms of settlement. The UNSC can impose sanctions or even authorize the use of force to maintain or restore international peace and security. Its decisions are binding upon all UN Member States.

🌟 We are excited to announce our intermediate level councils for GrunnMUN 2027! 💛

The intermediate committees are designed for students who have already completed a few conferences (typically 2 to 5 prior MUN experiences) and have a solid grasp of basic parliamentary procedure and public speaking. The debate will start to get more challenging, but without going straight into high-speed, advanced settings. Intermediate committees offer minimal refreshing with regards to the rules and expect delegates to jump straight into active debate, while chairs still provide constructive feedback.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation consisting of 38 Member States that works with more than 100 countries around the world to build better policies that promote prosperity and opportunity, underpinned by equality and well-being. The European Union is also officially represented within the organisation. OECD works together with policy makers, stakeholders and citizens to establish evidence-based international standards and to find solutions to social, economic and environmental challenges. Its goals range from improving economic performance and strengthening policies to fight climate change, promoting education and tackling corruption. OECD collaborates with the G7, Deauville Partnership, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and African Union Commission, as well as other organisations. OECD standards range from legally binding decisions and international agreements, to non-binding recommendations and declarations.

The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) is a United Nations office that works to promote international cooperation in the peaceful use and exploration of space, and in the utilisation of space science and technology for sustainable economic and social development. UNOOSA assists UN Member States to establish legal and regulatory frameworks to govern space activities and strengthens the capacity of developing countries to use space science technology and applications for development. It does this through a two-fold approach: it provides resources such as training, workshops, conf

The beginner committees are designed for first-time delegates, newcomers, and any other students with little to no prior experience in parliamentary procedure, public speaking, or international diplomacy. The pace will be slower, rules and mandates will be clarified, and chairs will support and assist the delegates in difficult situations. These committees offer a safe option for those who might get lost or intimidated in massive, fast-paced rooms, a beginner committee offers more guidance.

United Nations Women is the lead United Nations entity dedicated to advancing women’s rights, gender equality, and the empowerment of all women and girls. UN Women partners with governments, civil society, women’s movements, and the private sector, together with coordination within the broader United Nations itself in four policy areas: leadership, economic empowerment, freedom from violence, and peace, security and humanitarian action. It promotes women’s rights all around the world, within and among individual countries. UN Women acts on two fronts: it supports international political negotiation to formulate globally agreed standards for gender equality, and it helps implement those standards by providing expertise and financial support. Additionally, it assists other UN bodies and agencies in their efforts to advance gender equality across a broad spectrum of issues related to human rights and development.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is a United Nations body dedicated to contributing to global peace and security, human rights and development by making the world safer from drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism. Specifically, tackling the world’s drug problem, fighting organized crime, preventing and countering terrorism, corruption, money laundering, and economic crime as well as promoting a fair and effective criminal justice system. The 40th TEIMUN Secretariat is dedicated to overseeing the academic aspects and substantive content of the conferences. Alongside facilitating the highest quality of the debates we enhance the significance of TEIMUN as a premier Model United Nations event by fostering collaboration among MUN participants from across Europe and around the world.

Hello everyone!

My name is Alicja and as I step into the role of the Secretary General for this year’s edition of TEIMUN, I am finishing my masters degree in Public International Law at the University of Amsterdam. Having done my bachelor at RUG and being connected with the TEIMUN community, I am thrilled to have this opportunity.

In this role I set the strategic direction and oversee internal affairs. Additionally together with my DSGs I manage all of the academic aspects of the conferences, from selecting Chairpersons to supervising the background papers and facilitating the highest quality of experience for the participants.

The rules shape the system. But who shapes the rules?

We are proud to reveal the theme of TEIMUN 2027:

“Rules for Whom? Power, Legitimacy, and the Geopoliticisation of the International System.”

As global power shifts and established norms face growing contestation, this year’s theme asks us to look beyond the rules themselves and examine who creates them, whose interests they serve, and what happens when their legitimacy is challenged.
