Stichting Project Street Dogs Thailand is een Nederlandse non-profit organisatie en helpt zwerfdieren in nood in de provincie Prachuap Khiri Khan in Thailand, met name in de badplaats Hua Hin en omgeving. Onze doelstelling is om de populatie zw

erfhonden en katten in Thailand te verminderen door middel van sterilisatie en deze dieren zoveel mogelijk te ontlasten van pijn, jeuk en honger. Vrijwilligers verzorgen en voeren dagelijks honderden zwerfhonden en wij steunen hen waar mogelijk. Er wordt met de hulp van lokale dierenartsen medische zorg gegeven, naast sterilisatie en vaccinatie. Waar mogelijk zoeken we een nieuw onderkomen voor zowel pups als volwassen honden en katten. Tevens hebben we een goede samenwerking met diverse fosters en prive opvang centrums in Thailand, waar wij kansarme, met name invalide honden, kunnen onderbrengen. Voor deze honden hebben we een sponsorproject opgezet om hen levenslange zorg te kunnen bieden. Naast dit sponsor project draagt onze stichting ook zorg voor de leefomstandigheden, preventieve medicatie en, indien nodig, medische zorg kosten van deze geredde honden. De stichting werkt uitsluitend op vrijwillige basis en is volledig afhankelijk van donaties en giften! Deze komen geheel ten goede aan de zwerfhonden en katten in Thailand voor sterilisatie, vaccinatie, preventieve medicatie, dierenartskosten en voer. Enkel het welzijn en het beoogde verbeterde toekomstperspectief van deze dieren telt!

Project Street Dogs Thailand Foundation is a Dutch non-profit organization that helps stray animals in need in the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan in Thailand, especially in the seaside resort of Hua Hin and surroundings. Our goal is to reduce the population of stray dogs and cats in Thailand through sterilization and to relieve these animals of pain, itching and hunger as much as possible. Volunteers care for and feed hundreds of stray dogs every day and we support them where possible. Medical care is provided with the help of local veterinarians, in addition to sterilization and vaccination. Where possible, we look for a new home for puppies as well as adult dogs and cats. We also have a good cooperation with various fosters and private shelter centers in Thailand, where we can accommodate underprivileged, especially disabled dogs. We have set up a sponsorship project for these dogs to provide them with lifelong care. In addition to this sponsor project, our foundation also takes care of the living conditions, preventive medication and, if necessary, medical care costs of these rescued dogs. The foundation works exclusively on a voluntary basis and is completely dependent on donations and gifts! These fully benefit stray dogs and cats in Thailand for sterilization, vaccination, preventive medication, vet costs and food. Only the welfare and the intended improved future prospects of these animals counts!

OLLIE'S NEW BEGINNING IS ALMOST READY 🏡❤️

There was a time when Ollie lay injured and alone by the side of the road.

Today, he has something he never had before:

✨ Safety
✨ Love
✨ A future

The difference between these photos isn't just time.

It's compassion.

It's the people who refused to look away.

It's the supporters who helped give a broken dog a second chance.

Because of his spinal injury, ongoing rehabilitation, and fear of other dogs, Ollie needs a safe space of his own. That's why we are building him a special enclosure at Caro's World of Magic, where he will live as a permanent resident and continue receiving the care he needs.

Er was een tijd dat Ollie gewond en alleen langs de weg lag.

Dankzij liefde, geduld en de hulp van betrokken mensen heeft hij weer vertrouwen gekregen. Hij geniet weer van het leven en laat elke dag zien hoeveel veerkracht een hond kan hebben.

Omdat Ollie een ruggenmergletsel heeft, nog volop revalideert en zich niet prettig voelt tussen andere honden, krijgt hij bij Caro's World of Magic zijn eigen veilige plekje. Een rustig thuis waar hij de zorg en aandacht krijgt die hij nodig heeft.

Because rescue is not a one-day trend.

Today, while the internet has already moved to the next thing, thousands of dogs are still waking up on the streets hungry, injured, abandoned, frightened - and still waiting for someone to notice them.

That’s the uncomfortable truth about rescue:
The need exists long after the awareness day is over.

At Project Street Dogs Thailand, every rescue starts with a moment most people never see:
A scared dog hiding under a car.
A mother trying to protect her puppies beside a busy road.
An old dog silently suffering because nobody stopped long enough to care.

Rescue changes everything for that animal.
But it also changes us.

It asks difficult questions:
How do we measure the value of a life?
Why are some animals loved while others are ignored?
And what kind of world are we creating if compassion only lasts 24 hours?

So yes — National Rescue Dog Day was yesterday in the USA.
But maybe today is the more important day.
Because today is when compassion becomes action.

Het stopt niet wanneer de hashtags verdwijnen of wanneer de kalender verder gaat.

Vandaag — terwijl het internet alweer bezig is met iets nieuws - worden duizenden honden nog steeds wakker op straat: hongerig, gewond, verlaten, bang… en wachtend tot iemand hen ziet.

Dat is de harde realiteit van rescue:
De nood stopt niet na één awareness-dag.

Bij Project Street Dogs Thailand begint iedere redding met een moment dat de meeste mensen nooit zien:
Een angstige hond onder een auto.
Een moederhond die haar pups probeert te beschermen langs een drukke weg.
Een oude hond die stilletjes lijdt omdat niemand lang genoeg stopte om te helpen.

Rescue verandert alles voor dat dier.
Maar het verandert ook ons.

Het stelt moeilijke vragen:
Hoe bepalen we de waarde van een leven?
Waarom worden sommige dieren geliefd en andere genegeerd?
En wat zegt het over onze wereld als compassie maar 24 uur duurt?

Dus ja - National Rescue Dog Day was gisteren in de Verenigde Staten.
Maar misschien is vandaag wel belangrijker.
Omdat compassie vandaag pas echte actie wordt.

When progress means displacement, they suffer first. 🏗️💔

The rapid development transforming our landscape is destroying the only world these dogs have ever known. Their territories are paved over, and they are left homeless in their own homes.

We often hear the suggestion: "Why not just move them?" If only it were that simple.

Dogs are profoundly territorial animals. Their sense of safety and community is tied to their specific location and pack. Arbitrarily 'relocating' a dog - dumping them into a new area - is not a rescue. It is a sentence to fear, inevitable fights, stress, starvation, and a slow, painful death in a foreign place.

Dumping is never the answer.

How we can make a difference:

Be their voice. Share this post to educate others about the reality of territorial displacement.

Support localized care. We need help feeding, vaccinating, and sterilizing packs in the areas where they already live, ensuring they are healthy and stable in their existing territory.

Wanneer vooruitgang verplaatsing betekent, lijden zij als eerste. 🏗️💔

De snelle ontwikkeling die ons landschap transformeert, vernietigt de enige wereld die deze honden ooit gekend hebben. Hun territoria worden geasfalteerd en ze blijven dakloos achter in hun eigen vertrouwde omgeving.

We horen vaak de suggestie: "Waarom verplaats je ze niet gewoon?" Was het maar zo simpel.

Honden zijn uiterst territoriale dieren. Hun gevoel van veiligheid en gemeenschap is verbonden aan hun specifieke locatie en roedel. Het willekeurig 'herplaatsen' van een hond - ze dumpen in een nieuw gebied - is geen redding. Het is een vonnis tot angst, onvermijdelijke gevechten, stress, uithongering en een langzame, pijnlijke dood op een vreemde plek.

Dumpen is nooit de oplossing.

Hoe wij een verschil kunnen maken:

Wees hun stem. Deel dit bericht om anderen te informeren over de realiteit van territoriale verplaatsing.

Steun lokale zorg. We hebben hulp nodig bij het voeren, vaccineren en steriliseren van roedels in de gebieden waar ze al leven, om ervoor te zorgen dat ze gezond en stabiel blijven in hun bestaande territorium.
