Two weeks ago we participated in the with a total of 25 runners🏃🏃‍♀️. We started in Nijmegen at night and ran 175 km towards the beautiful city of Enschede! The run was split in 3 different parts: night, morning and afternoon. Whether night or day, we kept on running, and everyone did their best to carry the association to the finish line🏁!
We would like to thank all participants, but also all supporters for their efforts and motivation!
We are looking forward to the next year!

From a movie to your plate!

Have you ever wondered how amazing it would be to taste every dish that appears in a movie while you’re watching it? This year, the DiCie made that dream a reality. During the movie Ratatouille, they prepared and served a 12-course dinner, with each dish arriving at the exact moment it appeared on screen. From bullets to delicious celery soup to the iconic ratatouille itself, the film suddenly became a whole new sensory experience. To complete the evening, there was plenty of wine and soda to accompany the courses. Thanks to the DiCie’s creativity and great preparation, the event turned into a relaxed and memorable evening in the middle of a busy May.

March was again a wonderful and eventful month. It started with the prom theme reveal: Havana nights💃. Then we had the BranChE Day, the Beerlympics in honour of the Winter Olympics, and Pi(e)-Day on the 14th of March, where the DiCie baked a lot of pies🥧. Furthermore, in honour of International Women's Day, the InterCom made bracelets for everyone. We also had a study night and an Arts & Crafts activity. And we went on an excursion to Shell Pernis.
The week after, we integrated with 2 other associations by going to a jumping hall. We also brought out the atletes in ourselves by playing padel and met the new levy and said goodbye to old levies of the Borrelcie at the Duvel Op.
On Sunday the 29th of March, we celebrated the Dies Natalis💙 of Alembic by enjoying some klootschieten and a pubquiz in the TAP. We ended the month by learning How to Prom during a drink, where the traditions around the prom were explained.

Alembic’s annual Europe trip for 2026 took place last week! This trip brought us to Basel for five days of learning and exploration.
During the trip, we visited Novartis, one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world, to see how chemistry and chemical engineering are applied in the pharmaceutical industry. At FHNW, we visited the laboratories in a different university, where we could get a new insight on various approaches of the educational programme. We also visited Fondation Beyeler museum, in which we gained lots of insight on classical artists, brings us artistic value!

Even though February is the shortest month of the year, a lot still happened. It started with a lunch lecture and a cv training. After this, the Half-Yearly GMA came way too quickly, which means we are already half way through the year🥲. Then we had the Minecraft launch, organised by the GameCie, and the Hot Drink Tasting by the MasterCie. Then we had the skitrip with Newton, stay posted if you want to see more from it. During the skitrip, there was also the appropriately named Après ski drink. On the 16th, the InterCom gave people roses in honour of Valentines Day and a Day later, the FYCo Escape Room took place. The Blood on the Clocktower activity by the GameCie also took place, aswell as a LaTeX training. After this, it was time for a well deserved spring break, though if you were in Enschede, you could enjoy the Boomer Bridge Tournament, organised by our older members.
After such an exciting month, we are hyped to see what March will bring💙.

Once again we at Alembic had a busy month with many different activities. We arrived back in Enschede after relaxing for a few weeks, and Alembic made sure everyone hit the ground running.

All of our committees got the chance to integrate with each other and the Board during our committee integration activity. The GameCie organised a geoguesser tournament to distract people from the horrors of the exam weeks.

The InterCom helped people think of the clean energy day by allowing people to plant their own plants. To end the module and the month, we went completely wild at the First years committee karaoke drink.

Next month we already have some more amazing activities planned. Stay tuned 😎⚗️

Now that we have all settled back into our usual rhythms after the vacations, we can now look back at December and the wonderful activities we had then.

The month began with an activity by our wonderful Intercom, with a vision board. Here our members could show everyone their dreams as well as their creative side 🎨

We got into the winter spirits with our Sinterklaas 🎁 drink, where members got to meet the one and only Sinterklaas and get a personalized gift.

Our yearly ice skating trip was organised as well in December, by the Mastercie of course. About 62 Alembicers were found on the Ice rink, with varying skill levels.

To get into the Christmas mood before the vacation the EduCo hosted a christmas game in the homebase for our members, and we also had our Christmas dinner. As always the Christmas dinner was one of the biggest activities of the year, with the sign up list filled very quickly. 🎄

Hopefully we all enjoyed our vacations, but is nice to see everyone's faces back at Alembic ⚗️ 💙
