𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘥 𝘉𝘢𝘢𝘬𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘪, 𝘤𝘰-𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳

Rawad Baaklini (1994, Lebanon) is a curator and educator based in Rotterdam. Working across modern and contemporary art, design, and research, he explores how political, cultural, and ecological forces shape intimate life: how we eat, remember, care, and live together. Informed by his multilingual background, he treats curation as a form of translation that brings different histories, lived experiences and disciplines into relation without flattening their differences.

He is the co-founder of ArtEra, an art platform at Erasmus Medical Center that brings together biomedical research and artistic practices within the public space of the hospital. Through exhibitions and public programs, he has explored subjects ranging from healthcare, ecology, and food cultures to desire, translation, hospitality, and the poetics of everyday life.

𝘐𝘯 2022, 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘈𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘣𝘺 Garage Rotterdam and his recent work include projects at Stedelijk Museum Schiedam TENT Rotterdam & MU Hybrid Art House .

For 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳, he works alongside Fréderique Scholtes, whose curatorial practice concerns social, conceptual, and contextual relations and assistant curator Kimiya Jahanshahi, who follows collaborative practices and the circulation of artistic labour in poetic as well as political structures.
