ARGUS - Architecture Student Association

ARGUS - Architecture Student Association ARGUS is the renewed student association for all MSc architecture students from the TU Delft. So, if you have a great idea, don’t hesitate contacting us!

ARGUS is directed by masterstudents that are involved on a part-time basis. The current form of ARGUS is based on the resurrection (restart) in 2010, as ARGUS had been disbanded in 2008 as the fire had burned down the old building and all data. Our aim is to provide students with extra-curricular activities expanding their horizons in architecture and fields of study closely related to architectur

e, by means of excursions, lectures, workshops, debates, symposiums, etc. Because ARGUS is based upon student initiatives, we are always looking for new input and ideas.

TAKES // Episode 5: Internships! Are they really worth it?

In this episode of TAKES w/ ARGUS, we unpack internships from a student perspective. What is it actually like to move from studio into practice, and what do those first experiences reveal about the profession?

Through shared stories from offices like MVRDV, Sou Fujimoto Architects, Kengo Kuma & Associates, Du Besset–Lyon Architects, and Meydan Architecture, we reflect on expectations vs. reality, navigating hierarchy and workplace culture, and dealing with pressure and long hours.

Rather than asking if internships are simply “worth it,” this episode explores what they teach us and how they begin to shape our understanding of architecture.

Participants: Tim Schmidt, Anisa Mini, Öykü Maya Erkan
Podcast Team: Enrica Agus Klümper (moderator), Matthias Hellriegel (audio & video editing), Samanta Turovska & Anjaly Teresa Joseph (graphic design)

TAKES // Episode 4: Politics & Power in Architecture

In this episode of TAKES w/ ARGUS, we explore the relationship between architecture, power, and politics through a theoretical and reflective lens. Our guests discuss why architecture is never neutral, how power operates through space, and the responsibilities of architects, students, and academia within political contexts. Topics include inclusion and exclusion, authority and resistance, and the influence of global events on design thinking.

Participants: Theo Hannig, Jacob Meyers, Eva Vlasblom

Architecture school is not only about impressive models and final reviews. It is also late nights, uncertainty, and moments when everything feels like it is falling apart. In this episode, we talk about chaos, failure, and the emotional side of learning that usually stays behind closed studio doors.

From lost motivation to tough crits, we explore how failure shapes us, what helps us move forward, and why chaos sometimes teaches us more than success.

Got your own story of chaos or failure to share? Or an idea for a future topic?
Send us a DM, we’d love to hear from you!

Participants: Madelief Bergevoet, Victoria Bauer, Megha Sahu

TAKES // Episode 2 — What Inspires You?

In this episode of TAKES w/ ARGUS, we explore one of the most personal and open-ended questions: what inspires you? Our guests share the people, moments, and ideas that spark their creativity — from the unexpected to the deeply personal. Together, we discuss how inspiration evolves over time, how our environments shape it, and how to stay motivated when creativity feels out of reach.

We talk about what inspiration means on a personal level, how to find it (or let it find you), and whether architecture or studies can still inspire after long hours and deadlines. The conversation also touches on how others influence the creative process and what we can do to keep inspiration alive in our daily lives.

Participants: En Lyn Daryln Sia, Jillis Hulleman, Eva Marie Schmidt

HELLO MSC Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment TU Delft STUDENTS!

Welcome to ARGUS! With the faculty partially closed, study can be challenging. It can be difficult to feel connected or part of a community, not to mention meet new people. That’s why being part of a student association like ARGUS is so crucial at times like these.

We aim to keep you up to date with goings-on, and most importantly, hear what you have to say. We want to know what you’re concerned about, what you want more of, and how the BK can make your experience here that little bit more interesting*.

If you are interested in getting involved always feel free to contact us via social media or email us at [email protected], or join one of our open meetings every Monday lunch breaks (12:45-13:45) via zoom. Let us know if you're interested in joining!

Otherwise, be on the lookout for our upcoming events, which will be posted on social media and posters round the BK.

*We make school more fun. We communicate with Facultaire Studentenraad (FSR) and the Dean to make sure student voices are heard and addressed

Dining in the Urban is a design competition offering the opportunity to explore domestic rituals in the public realm, the competition is part of a collaborative research project at TU Delft, The Intimate City. The brief uses knowledge gained from domestic rituals to expose the boundaries between the public, communal, and private within the city. Aiming to reveal social and physical latency the brief is an experiment which acknowledges form as a social commitment in order to mediate the tension in the city.
