With only three days to go until TEDxBreda, and all our amazing speakers announced, it’s time to introduce our amazing host: Simran Sejpal! ❤️

Simran is a Political Science master’s graduate, passionate about using policy, advocacy, and inclusive collaboration to drive humanitarian impact.

An impressive fact about her? She became the youngest TEDx speaker in Europe at just 14 years old! With such an early start in public engagement, she has since hosted the event twice, and now she’s back again!

From leading gender equality initiatives in India and teaching in under-resourced Sri Lankan schools to raising money for community projects, Simran combines strong communication skills with a consistent commitment to humanitarian work.

We’re very excited to have Simran and her expertise as our host at TEDxBreda! ❤️

Meet our next TEDxBreda speaker: Dr. Chintan Kella! 👋

Chintan has spent years studying informal and micro-entrepreneurs, from street vendors in India to now Dutch ZZP’ers. He has seen how people create huge societal value with no investors, no large teams, just skill, courage and determination.

Yet, we rarely stop to think about what these entrepreneurs represent and how they do it. They adapt when technology changes, regulations are unclear or rents rise. They create new products, build relationships and find new ways forward. They innovate without calling it innovation.

For many of us, resilience means not breaking or bouncing back after a fall. But for millions of small entrepreneurs, resilience means waking up every day and finding a way forward, even when the system was never built for them in the first place. They don’t just bounce back, they thrive.

Chintan invites us to look beyond the boardroom for lessons in entrepreneurship and resilience.

Because perhaps the future of entrepreneurship will look less like a corporate tower, and more like a market hall. And what if some of our biggest business lessons are waiting for us on the sidewalks? Let’s discover this idea together!

Meet our next TEDxBreda speaker: Martijn Blom! 👋

With 15 years of experience as an investment manager and investment fund advisor, Martijn knows how we traditionally think about investing: through numbers, efficiency and expected returns.

But what if we looked at our investments the way an artist looks at their art?

In life, we value the intangible things more, like love, connection and friendship. Yet when it comes to our money, we tend to focus on things that can be calculated, compared and are at scale.

There is a logic behind the way we invest today, but Martijn questions, what if we looked at it this way: what kind of outcome do we want our investments to create?

Artists create from what matters to them, not simply from what makes the most sense on paper. Martijn invites us to explore what investing could look like if we approached it in a similar way, keeping in mind what we value in life.

Let’s give it up for Noor Noman and Slawomir Subocz, the new talents of TEDxBreda 2026.

In the spirit of “Let’s…”, this year we decided to open our stage to pitchers: people with clever, introspective ideas who don’t necessarily have experience delivering them in front of a big audience.

Noor’s energy and refusal to feel like a failure for not meeting everybody’s expectations, and Slawomir’s proposal to get addicted to traveling for the sake of connection, will definitely spark inspiring conversations with everyone present!

Want to be part of TEDxBreda and experience the event from behind the scenes? We’re looking for more people to join our volunteer team from 12:00–22:00, on the event day.

Tasks will include:
🎟️ Scanning tickets
🚪 Helping late arrivals get in after doors close
🍴 Being responsible for the staff room
🎬 Helping at the green screen

We’ll assign tasks depending on your experience and interests.

Meet our next TEDxBreda speaker, Fleur 🌍

Over the past 15 years, Fleur 🌍 has lived in the Netherlands, Sydney, London and New York, building an international career across cultures and teams. Today, she leads a global team spanning 11 countries.

She’s seen firsthand how connected our world has become, and yet how easily we can still misunderstand each other.

Because knowing cultures are different doesn’t mean we stop misunderstanding each other. Even when we think we’re culturally aware, we can speak the same language, look at the same situation, and still walk away with completely different interpretations.

So what are we missing?

In her TEDxBreda talk, Fleur explores what might really be behind these misunderstandings, and what they may reveal about ourselves.
