🔎🌍 Members in the Field | Meet Lea

For her Wildlife Ecology and Conservation thesis, Lea travelled to Kenya to study how carnivores and livestock share the same landscape. From checking camera traps and spotting a rare leopard to learning Kiswahili and sharing stories with the Maasai community, her fieldwork has been filled with unforgettable experiences.

Nature provides us with valuable services every day, often without us even realizing it. These benefits are known as ‘ecosystem services’

From crop pollination and clean drinking water to climate regulation, fertile soils, and places to relax: healthy ecosystems are of great importance for both our well-being and our economy.

When ecosystems health declines, the consequences are serious. Think of biodiversity loss, poorer water quality, lower food production, and reduced resilience to climate change.

By protecting ecosystems, we’re also investing in our own future. 🌍💚
