EFNYO - European Federation of National Youth Orchestras

EFNYO is a platform for the exchange of expertise in music training between the leading national and international youth orchestras of Europe.

It includes MusXchange, a transnational mobility and training programme for members aged 16 - 28. "It has been interesting to see how a foreign orchestra works. Since 1996 more than 850 pre-professional musicians have taken part in MusXchange. European Federation of National Youth Orchestras (EFNYO) strongly believes in the added value of short-term mobility projects in professional music training. Following its beginnings in 1996, the musicians’ exchange programme of EFNYO has developed into an indispensable instrument for the professionalization of young musicians in Europe. The programme MusXchange is based on more than 20 years of experience of EFNYO members. It was developed from a pilot mobility project, which was established in 2009 and co-funded by the EU Commission.

We had a wonderful time at the EFNYO General Assembly in Berlin from 6-9 of June 24. The highlights of our GA definetely were the meeting at Deutscher Bundestag with Ms. Katrin Budde, a speech & exchange with Ms. Dorothee Kalbhenn (programme director of Konzerthaus Berlin) and the concert ”Intonations-Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival” at Kühlhaus Berlin. We would particularly like to thank Dr. Gabriele Minz and her team, Carolin Krispel and Alexa Nieschlag, for the wonderful organisation of this event.

Wonderful pictures of the Austrian violinist Hanna Kaufmann, who took part in the latest tour of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain in January 24 and was able to gain many great experiences during the project.🇦🇹🇪🇸

"How beautiful is it to play in a hall like the Musikverein Wien! Dvořák Scherzo Capricioso was the piece I heard for the first time and I'm glad the conductor decided to include it into the repertoire. Now it's among my favourite pieces of Dvořák."
