London-based ๐ข๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐บ๐ฎ๐ is an artist-driven creative platform run by ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฏ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ & ๐ง๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฏ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ต, who curated the shorts programme ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐: ๐ฆ๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฟ๐๐ด๐ด๐น๐ฒ๐. Four films by multidisciplinary artists were selected that trace intersectional histories of colonial struggles across continents by reflecting on shared histories, resistance and collective imagination.
๐๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐น, ๐ถ๐ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ by Aburawa & Shah examines the ongoing impact of French toxic colonialism in Mertoutek, a village nestled in the Hoggar Mountains of Algeriaโs Southern Sahara.
๐ช๐ฒ ๐ช๐ผ๐๐น๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฟ by ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ต reflects on Indigenous relationships to wild plants under settler-colonialism and its impact on knowledge production, food, memory, and movement.
In ๐ง๐ต๐ผ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ง๐ต๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฟ๐บ๐, ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ ๐ ๐ถ๐บ๐ถ experiments with the relationship between liberation, dreams and movement by weaving found footage with original film recordings, researching the question of how and when bodies become sites of resistance.

๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐น๐ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ by ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ง๐ฎ๐ท๐ถ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ธ๐ tells the fictionalised story of an Indigenous Australian man invited to London for the Colonial Exhibition of 1886. Farouky runs the Radical Film School in London and moves between cinema, political thought and cultural organising, exploring exile, memory and conversations on decolonisation and global solidarity.
Saeed engaged in a post-screening discussion with Dina Mimi moderated by ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ฌ๐๐ฟ๐ถ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ. This was followed by a dialogue session on radical film pedagogies moderated by philosopher ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ท๐ฎ ๐๐น ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐, with co-founder of the educational platform School of Intrusions ๐ก๐ผ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฑ, who works at the intersection of performance and film, combining forms of the โstagedโ and the โdocumentaryโ.
We must never forget that Palestine remains intertwined with international struggles and movements calling for justice around the world.
