“And they give food, in spite of love for it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [saying], ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah. We wish not from you neither reward or gratitude.’”

Al Qur’an - Surah Al-Insan 76:8–9

More than 40 delicious meals were shared with children and adults alike around the Great Mosque of Djenné today for Eid celebrations.

All our blessings are from Allāh, entrusted to us to share. Grateful and honored to fulfill our duty: to serve, to give, and to remember those in need, with love.

Thank you for answering the call. Together, we’re better. May Allah place us among those shaded under His shade on the Day there is no shade but His.

Eid is more than a celebration, it’s a return to Allāh with a softened, grateful heart after a time of patience and reflection. It’s a reminder that the true joy of Eid lies in inner peace, sincerity, and closeness to Him and in striving to be better.

May Allāh make you among the grateful, protect and increase your blessings, and fill your home with sakinah and barakah. May He accept all acts of worship, forgive your shortcomings, and grant you ease, joy, and nearness to Him in every step.

May He grant the Shade family happiness that draws them closer to You, provision that is pure and abundant, and deep love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.

Eid Mubarak 🌙✨

Special Edition : Zakaat ul Fitr Djenne Mali

The Great Mosque of Djenné stands as a symbol of faith and community in one of West Africa’s oldest cities, yet many families around it struggle to meet their basic needs.

As Eid approaches, countless children in Djenné are facing food insecurity, making it difficult for them to experience the joy and dignity of this blessed day.

Around the sacred Great Mosque of Djenné, where generations gather in prayer and unity, many children are quietly enduring hunger.

This Eid, a simple meal can bring light back into their celebration, turning a day of hardship into one of joy, connection, and mercy.

A humble donation to support our dear brothers and sisters in Mali, to extend our celebration to include them.

Day 10 - Widow and Orphan food parcel

Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said
"I and the one who cares for an orphan will be together in Paradise like this, and he held his two fingers together."  (Sahih al-Bukhari)

As of 2026, the global number of widows is estimated to exceed 320 million, many of whom face economic hardship and social vulnerability.

Each year, millions of children continue to lose one or both parents due to conflict, poverty, and disease.

While child mortality has slightly declined, over 4.8 million children under the age of five still die annually many from preventable causes leaving countless families broken and children without support.

Ongoing crises, including conflict, climate shocks, and displacement, continue to deepen these challenges, increasing the number of widows and orphans in urgent need of care.

Monthly food parcels play a vital role in easing the burden on widows, providing consistent support and dignity in the face of hardship. By sourcing food locally, these initiatives also strengthen local economies and empower communities to become more resilient.

The Shade remains committed to supporting projects that not only meet immediate needs but also uplift and develop local communities sustainably.

A symbolic donation via to show the most vulnerable they matter to us.

May Allāh bless your hearts with His Infinite Light.

Sustainable Livelihood

Our Prophet ﷺ said: “Eat the oil and use it on your hair and skin, for it comes from a blessed tree.” as reported by Abu Aseed. [Al-Tirmidhi, 1775]

Far too many people in the world are born into a life of abject poverty, growing up without access to what many take for granted: food, education, healthcare and opportunities to make a living... and the cycle continues, generation after generation.
Supporting livelihood projects helps break that cycle and empower the world’s poorest communities to become self-sufficient.
This s also the core of The Shade's mission.

Somalia Livelihood projects

Somalia is facing a prolonged humanitarian crisis, with over 6.5 million people experiencing acute hunger and more than 3 million displaced due to drought, conflict, and economic instability. Beyond food shortages, families are losing their ability to survive independently, making livelihood support through tools, seeds, small business aid, and cash assistance essential to restore income, dignity, and long-term resilience.

Olive trees in Palestine

Olive trees carry more than an economic significance in the lives of Palestinians. They are symbolic of Palestinians’ attachment to their land.
More than livelihood; aliveness! Palestinian resistance and resilience. Olive trees are also blessed trees.

Coffee trees in Yemen

Extreme water shortages have forced Yemeni families to import 90% of their foods. Only a third of them have access to mains water, and the cultivation the narcotic plant Qat uses up around a third of Yemen’s water.
Yemeni coffee tree farming uses less water and are highly sought-after beans.

Fig, grape, and walnut trees in Iraq

Iraq was once famous for its high quality fruits, including pomegranate, apricot, figs, walnuts and grapes.
But years of conflict, poor irrigation, and rising fuel prices have decimated the farms and farming families, and driven up the price of local fruits.

We pray our humble donation via
will have long lasting benefits for those in needs and themselves empower others to continue this ongoing charity.

Losing a parent is undoubtedly a traumatic experience for any child.
It is an experience that will follow that child, likely playing a large role in their development and the opportunities they will have later in life.

Globally, 153 million children are orphans; the number of orphans in developing countries is enormous: 132 million. Each day, 39,000 children are forced from their homes alone because of the death of a parent, family illness or abuse and abandonment.

They typically lack basic needs, like food and shelter. Education, however, is the first to be sacrificed, especially for older children who stop attending school to care for their younger siblings.

7% of orphans are stolen and sold into the s*x industry and other types of human trafficking.

So orphan sponsorship is a lifeline.

A drop in the ocean of the orphans left to drift. Donation via to continue our support to orphans, one child at a time.

Last year your donation helped support the young Zeenathul Faraah Nawfer Jaya. This year we continue to support her!

May Allah bless your hearts with His Infinite Light.

Day 7 – Syria Emergency

More than 14 years after the start of the conflict, Syria remains one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises.

Over 16 million people now require humanitarian assistance, including 7.5 million children, while around 6–7 million people remain internally displaced across the country.

Today over 90% of Syrians live below the poverty line, struggling daily to secure food, healthcare and basic necessities.

Millions of families remain vulnerable, with women, children and the elderly facing the greatest risks as access to services and livelihoods continues to collapse.

An entire generation of Syrian children has grown up knowing nothing but conflict and displacement.

Day 6 – Qur’an Hifdh Sponsorship

For millions of Muslims around the world, learning the Qur’an is not only an education, but a source of guidance, identity, and spiritual strength.

Yet many vulnerable children and orphans are deprived of this opportunity. Instead of studying, they are often forced into survival at a very young age, working to support their families or growing up without the stability every child deserves.

The Hafidh Sponsorship Programme helps change that reality. By supporting children from impoverished backgrounds, it offers them both education and protection from poverty, neglect, and life on the streets.

Through this program, children receive complete care and support food and safe shelter, healthcare and clothing, a healthy learning environment, qualified teachers, Qur’an memorisation (Hifdh) classes and basic secular education

This sponsorship is more than charity. It is Sadaqah Jariyah, an ongoing charity whose reward continues as long as the Qur’an is recited and carried in the hearts of those who learn it.

Today’s symbolic donation through is a reminder that nurturing the next generation of Qur’an bearers is both an honour and a responsibility.

Supporting an orphan to grow upon the path of Allah helps raise a generation of lights for the Ummah. Wherever the Book of Allah is recited, we honour it and those who carry it.

Day 5 – Street Children Rescue

Street children globally are estimated to number around 150 million, though the true figure is likely much higher.

In Pakistan alone, an estimated 1.5 million children live or work on the streets, often surviving through begging, small jobs, or informal labor.

Many of these children have experienced poverty, family breakdown, violence, displacement, or natural disasters, pushing them onto the streets at a very young age. Without protection, they face high risks of exploitation, trafficking, abuse, and substance dependency.

Pakistan also has over 22 million children out of school, leaving many vulnerable to child labor and life on the streets.

Rescue and rehabilitation programs provide holistic care, including food, safe shelter, healthcare, counseling, education, and vocational training — helping children heal, leave the streets, and rebuild their future.

We must take action to alleviate the suffering of street-connected children and protect their dignity and rights.

Access to clean and safe water remains a major challenge across parts of South Asia.

Millions of people living in remote and climate-vulnerable regions continue to struggle with unreliable.

In Sri Lanka, rural communities are particularly vulnerable. Irregular rainfall, climate pressures, and limited infrastructure leave many families dependent on unsafe or distant water sources.

Access to clean water improves health, strengthens community resilience, and supports stability.

It also reduces the burden on women and children, who often spend hours each day collecting water, time that could otherwise be spent on education or livelihoods.

Alongside awareness around water conservation and improved irrigation, simple and sustainable solutions such as community wells and hand pumps can be life-saving.

The humanitarian crisis in Yemen remains one of the worst in the world.

After more than a decade of conflict, the situation continues to deteriorate. In 2026, around 21 million people in Yemen need humanitarian assistance, and nearly 17–18 million are facing severe food insecurity.

More than 4.8 million people are displaced, many forced to flee their homes multiple times while living in camps with limited access to food, water, and healthcare.

Malnutrition is reaching alarming levels.

Over 1.3 million pregnant and breastfeeding women and millions of children under five require urgent treatment for acute malnutrition.

At the same time, humanitarian programs are struggling due to severe funding shortages and limited access to communities in need, leaving millions at risk of hunger and disease.

A small donation via

Please keep the people of Yemen in your duʿā.

May Allāh ﷻ ease their suffering and reward every act of charity.
