CLUE+ is the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam interfaculty research institute for Culture, Cognition, History and Heritage. Its main goal is to stimulate interfaculty collaboration on interdisciplinary themes and societal challenges related to the Vrije Universiteit profile theme Connected World. To that aim, we are glad to announce that a new call for funding has been opened. This call will fund the following types of activities:
- academic/scientific meetings (e.g. organising conferences, expert meetings, workshops);
- assistance of research activities;
- valorisation activities.

An Entrepreneurial Attitude for Researchers in Culture, Cognition, History and Heritage

One of the key aspirations of the Vrije Universiteit as formulated in the strategic agenda of 2025 is to instill an entrepreneurial attitude in its staff members. The CLUE+ event, An Entrepreneurial Attitude for researchers in Culture, Cognition, History and Heritage explores what opportunities there are in this regard for scholars from especially the Faculty of Humanities and Religion and Theology.

The event will be spread out over three days: 22 February 2024, 7 March 2024, and 11 April 2024.

Are you working with digital methodologies or would you like to apply digital solutions in your research? Find out what’s possible with experts from the eScience Center! The eScience Center’s Research Software Engineers (RSE) are specialised in developing high quality digital tools in all academic disciplines.

The Center’s RSEs have a wide range of expertise in different research disciplines, technologies and programming languages. Together with CLUE+ we are organizing a session in which the director of the eScience Center, prof. dr. Joris van Eijnatten, specialized in digital historical research (digital history, digital humanities), provides a keynote lecture on the current trends and challenges in the digital humanities. This presentation is followed by a series of pitches of eScience projects and a speed-dating session to match you and your research project up with an RSE from the eScience Center.
