The main changes concern a lighter submission round without sketch and proposal, and a more extended short-list phase with a higher artist fee. The received applications will still be considered, but the committee will focus on the candidateโs affinity with the call and its objectives.
dNM is one of Amsterdamโs first housing coops and has recently been awarded the Amsterdam Architecture Prize 2026. Rooted in the housing rights movement, dNM is a social, political, and architectural project developed entirely through a community-led process. It is an experiment in co-design, shared living, and solidarity economy. The mural will form an integral part of the building and its vision.
The open call is open to artists, writers, designers, architects, and activists who can demonstrate experimental, community-driven approaches to artistic creation and project development. No prior mural experience required!
We strongly encourage applications from BIPOC, q***r, trans, disabled, and non-binary practitioners, and those engaging with housing, commons, and social justice.
