SYVNL is a group of young volunteers in the Netherlands, established by young Syrians. www.syvnl.nl The story of SYVNL is catching on and spreading.

THE STORY SO FAR:
The Netherlands has witnessed an influx of Syrian expatriates over the past several years, arriving unfortunately as refugees. Understanding the individual toll it takes, SYVNL recognizes that a refugee status is not a choice. Refugees are more, they are people who care about the society where they are currently living and want to contribute. It was with this understanding that t

he SYVNL was born (Syrian Volunteers Netherlands). SYVNL – a small non-profit, non-religious, non-political organization with big goals. Established by a group of Syrian youth living in the Netherlands as a proactive response to the Syrian humanitarian crisis. Soon after the birth of SYVNL, volunteers from the Dutch community strengthened our organization. We are connected with the refugee camp at the Havenstraat in Amsterdam, with the Dutch Salvation Army, OXFAM NOVIB, the Dutch Red Cross and the University of Amsterdam, among others. SYVNL is an inclusionary organization that promotes diversity and welcomes all active citizens!

�PURPOSE:
Our purpose is to give back & grow
1 Give back by participating with local initiatives.
2 Grow by supporting refugees and strengthening refugee networks.
3 Grow by establishing strong bonds between the Syrian and Dutch communities. VISION:
Our vision for SYVNL is to empower all refugees to integrate into society through local initiatives, which are carried out to solve local issues. MISSION - SYVNL has three core goals:

Refugee Integration – A holistic approach
By contributing to Dutch society through initiatives with a local, social cause, refugees are able to interact with the heart of Dutch society while gaining a sense of self-value. Combat Stereotypes
We want to raise awareness about the true spirit of refugees as people who want to work, develop themselves and contribute to the social order. Rebuilding Syrian Society�

We want to establish strong bonds between the Syrian and Dutch communities through joint projects. These bonds are key to the social integration of new Syrian resident and will aid in the future rebuilding of Syria.

We’ll begin with a screening of For Sama, the powerful, award-winning documentary by Waad al-Kateab. Told through the eyes of a mother during the siege of Aleppo, For Sama is more than a film—it’s a deeply personal letter of love, loss, and survival.

بدأت الجامعة الحُرَّة بأمستردام, قسم علم النفس العيادي استطلاعاً جديداً عبر الإنترنت يدعى ري يونايت من خلال هذه الدراسة, نحن نهدف إلى استكشاف الرفاه النفسي للاجئين اليافعين ومشاكل الصحة النفسية الشائعة عندهم.

ندعو اللاجئين الشباب المتحدثين بإحدى اللغات العربية, الأوكرانية أو التغرينية التي أعمارهم بين 16-25 عاماً ويعيشون في هولندا إلى ملئ الاستبيان عن طريق الإنترنت.

إنهاء الإستبيان يأخذ تقريباً 30 دقيقة أقل أو أكثر. من خلال المشاركة هناك فرصة لربح مبلغ 50 يورو.

Syrian Volunteers in the Netherlands (SYVNL) is organizing a workshop that introduces the concepts of refugee-led advocacy, self-organization and how to build advocacy strategies to influence refugee/migrant policies. Based on academic concepts and practical examples Mohammed Badran will bring his own experience in doing advocacy in the Netherlands and internationally. The workshop will be based on the Erasmus+ toolkit and the Refugee Academy report and it is a part of the AMIF-funded project.

About the project:
The project aims to promote and support refugee and migrant participation in the design and implementation of integration and related policies at local, regional, national, and European level. The project includes educational activities and co-creation activities which will produce concrete policy recommendations to improve integration policies and the position of refugee-led and migrant-led organisations in the Netherlands.

About the postion:
We are looking for an excellent part-time Project Facilitator/Coordinator! The main responsibilities are:
- Coordinating and monitoring project's activities, planning, and budget.
- Conducting desk research/ interviews
- Organising workshops and meetings for refugee/migrant leaders and organisations
- Attending stakeholders' meetings.
- Ensuring project deadlines are met.
- Develop strategies and follow-up plans for future project's developments.

Requirements:
- Academic work and thinking level.
- Relevant experience
- Excellent writing skills in English. Dutch or Arabic is a plus.
- Having a migration lived experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of the integration policies and laws in the Netherlands
- Strong motivation to work on refugees’ / migrant issues.
- Able to work remotely and physically in the Netherlands
- Available and flexible to work up to 20 hours a week
- Available to start immediately

We are looking to hire an experienced freelancer who has/have graphic design skills to create visual concepts and design high-quality digital infographics for our upcoming project campaign.

Brief description of the project:

The project aims to promote and support refugee and migrant participation in the design and implementation of integration and related policies at local, regional, national, and European level. The project focuses on educational activities that are followed up with concrete tasks which will produce concrete policy tools for advocating refugee and migrant’s inclusion in policy-making processes. The approach of the project is based on the creation of knowledge based on lived experiences.
The project is supported by the European program AMIF

Responsibilities:

-Attend required Meetings/Events (Online and offline).
-Create visual concepts for the project advocacy campaign.
-Create engaging presentation templates, and social media assets.
-Producing drafts, artworks for print production and final documents.
-Design high-quality digital infographics.

Skills and Personal Characteristics:

-1 to 2 years’ experience in graphic design preferably with non-profit organisations.
-Education in a relevant design field.
-High-level computer skills particularly in the Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
-Knowledge of layout and print design, typography, non-profit identities.
-Capable of understanding, speaking and writing in English on a high level, Arabic or Dutch is a plus.
-Have commitment to deadlines and be open to flexible working hours.
-Have a knowledge of the evolving nature of social media.
Strong motivation to work on refugees’ issues.

Duration of the assignment:

40 Hours upon request divided into a period from May 2022 to December 2023

We are looking to hire an experienced freelancer who has/have both videography and photography skills to produce high-quality videos and take professional photos for our upcoming project.

Brief description of the project:

The project aims to promote and support refugee and migrant participation in the design and implementation of integration and related policies at local, regional, national, and European level. The project focuses on educational activities that are followed up with concrete tasks which will produce concrete policy tools for advocating refugee and migrant’s inclusion in policy-making processes. The approach of the project is based on the creation of knowledge based on lived experiences.

The project campaign will produce 20 national videos/teasers (5 for the Netherlands), 4 final videos on the policy-making process.

The project is supported by the European program AMIF

Responsibilities:

-Attend required meetings/Events (Online and offline).
-Responsible for capturing content for the advocacy campaign.
-Responsible for all photographic and video content from start to finish including capturing content and editing for the needs of output.
-Play a key role in assisting to shape the visual storyline of content touchpoints.

Skills and Personal Characteristics:

-Must have own equipment.
-Excellent knowledge of photography/videography within the digital domain.
-Display excellent technical and photographic skills.
-Display a passion for both photographic and video content and a commitment to holding editorial integrity.
-Capable of understanding, speaking, and writing in English on a high level, Arabic or Dutch is a plus.
-Experience with NGOs work environment.
-Have commitment to deadlines and be open to flexible working hours.
-Have a knowledge of the evolving nature of social media.

لمحة عن المشروع:
Doctors in actionمشروع يسلط الضوء على نظام تعديل الشهادات الطبية والاندماج في القطاع الصحي الهولندي للقادمين الجدد من السوريين/ات.
حاليا نحضر لإطلاق موقع إلكتروني يتضمن بروفايل (ملفات تعريفية) للأطباء وأخصائي الصحة السوريين/ات الموجودين في هولندا ليسلط الضوء على خبرات هؤلاء الاطباء للمجتمع الهولندي وصاحبي القرار فيما يتعلق بقوانين تعديل الشهادات والاندماج.

المتطلبات:
- شهادة في المجال الطبي او خبرة (تمريض، طب، رعاية صحية،..).
- دافع قوي للعمل على قضايا اللاجئين.
- الالتزام بالتطوع لمدة 2-4 ساعات بلاسبوع.

ما نقدمه:
- بيئة عمل جيدة وأجواء ديناميكية للعمل على المستوى المحلي والعالمي.
- فرصة للتأثير وإحداث فرق على سياسات اللجوء.
- تعويض تطوعي.

About the project:

Doctors in action project aims to highlight Migrant/refugee doctors and healthcare workers' efforts in the Netherlands, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to advocate for positive changes in the health care integration system and procedure in the Netherlands.
We are preparing to launch a website that includes profiles of Syrian doctors and healthcare workers in the Netherlands to highlight their experiences and deliver them to the Dutch community and decision/ policymakers.

Requirements:
- Degree in medicine/ health care sector (e.g. Public health, health practitioner, Nursing ...)
- Strong motivation to work on refugee issues.
-Commitment for 2 to 4 hours per-week.
