Center for Art and Politics

Center for Art and Politics Artists, politics, social change and human rights.

The Center is dedicated to collecting data on artists involved in societal transformation processes and politics in conflict and post-conflict zones. This is evident but not limited to artists who address politically or religiously sensitive issues or whose practices may be seen as "activist". Yet more and more art workers (in Europe and globally) are concerned with poverty; political or media mar

ginalisation; climate crime; corruption; capitalist or financial excess; gender discrimination; religious or ideological repression. Arts workers, as much as journalists or professional activists, can be in danger – ranging from censorship and loss of support, to torture, prison and even death because they ‘speak’, communicate, provoke thought, and have an audience.
