Stichting Afrikaner- Reddingsactiefonds (Afrikaner Rescue Action Fund Foundation) is a non-profit organisation that was registered in the Netherlands on 18 November 2011. The Foundation aims to improve the socio-economic and social position of Afrikaans speaking people in South Africa and to conserve, preserve, and promote their cultural heritage including the Afrikaans language. The Foundation se
eks to achieve her goals by raising funds to support existing projects that are aimed at creating opportunities and improving living conditions. The Foundation works from the Netherlands as an independent organisation, assisted by representatives in South Africa. The need is urgent: 800,000 Afrikaners who languish in desperate tent and shack camps, in 2011 they were only getting two full meals a month with the levels of chronic malnutrition rising every day. In addition to their physical well-being, the Foundation appreciates the cultural heritage of the Afrikaans speaking community. We believe that the Afrikaans language are worth preserving, and are of invaluable worth in strengthening this community. The Foundation wants to emphasise the fact that the Afrikaans speaking community are not the only population group of which many are impoverished in South Africa today. However, because of Affirmative Action and Black Economic Empowerment, many people that have Afrikaans as home language are left with absolutely no job prospects and no hope for the future. They find themselves in a downwards spiral from which few can escape. This is where the Foundation hopes to make a difference. The Foundation works solely with volunteers
As a foundation, we recognise the importance of accountability and transparency. The Foundation will publish organisational and financial information in cooperation with Stichting GeefGratis.
