The world committed to ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. But how does that commitment become action?
Every five years, a Global AIDS Strategy is developed to guide the response. The latest strategy, covering 2026β2031, was commissioned by the UNAIDS Board in December 2025.
Now, it moves to the United Nations, where Member States will come together at the 2026 High-Level Meeting on HIV and AIDS to negotiate and adopt the commitments that will shape the global HIV response for the next five years.
