Zero Flags Project

Zero Flags Project The goal of the Zero Flags Project is to reduce the number of countries where homosexuality is punishable by law.

We will continue our countdown until the only flag remaining is the rainbow flag and the whole world lives in sexual- and gender freedom. About 25% of the world's population, around 2 billion people, live in a country where homosexuality is punishable by law. In 11 countries the death penalty can be imposed and in 2 countries this penalty was recently carried out. The goal of the Zero Flags Projec

t is to contribute to a reduction in the number of countries where homosexuality is punishable by law. The Zero Flags Project works together with organizations such as UNHCR, Human Rights Watch and the Equal Rights Coalition.

Countdown to zero flags

The zero flags project puts focus on countries that criminalize homosexuality. Our aim is to bring the number of these countries down to zero. One of our tools is visibility, using the national symbol of these countries, their flags. We carry them in the annual Pride Walk or put them on display. We also work together with the Equal Rights Coalition and other international NGO’s to achieve our goal: zero flags.
