🌿 Day 2 – Ecological Leadership Training

We woke up to birdsong and began the day with a quiet walk through the forest. Nature was not just our setting today—it became our teacher.

One phrase stayed with us throughout the day: "You cannot be right or wrong. It's a playground, just try. Nature does not judge."

We explored what ecological leadership means and reflected on our place within groups and communities. Through discussions, activities, and personal reflection, we asked ourselves questions that felt both simple and profound:

-What is ecological leadership?

-What are you grateful for?

-What feels painful?

-What new perspective did you discover?

-What action will you take?

-Do you prefer leading or following

The day continued far beyond the official schedule, with conversations, shared learning, and moments of connection. Tonight, we will gather around the campfire and celebrate our different cultures, stories, songs, and traditions from six countries.

Another day of learning, listening, and reconnecting—with nature, with others, and with ourselves. 🔥🌲✨

🌿 Day 3 – Ecological Leadership Training, Ommen, Netherlands
Yesterday we explored gratitude. Today, we turned toward something more challenging: our pain for nature and the future.
Through the Work That Reconnects framework, we reflected on what concerns us most about environmental loss, climate change, and the world future generations will inherit. Sharing these feelings reminded us that caring deeply for the Earth also means allowing ourselves to feel grief for it.
We also explored the Participation Ladder, reflecting on our experiences as both leaders and followers. Through personal stories, feedback, and group discussions, we examined where our voices have been heard, where they haven't, and how we can move toward more meaningful participation and co-creation.
Surrounded by the forest, nature once again became our teacher. 🌱

Day 4 – Ecological Leadership Training, Ommen, Netherlands 🌱

Yesterday, we held space for the grief we feel for nature and the future. Today, we stepped into fresh perspectives by looking at nature through the eyes of other living beings. We tried to experience the world from the viewpoints of different entities—like an ant, a bird, and water. 🐜🦅💧

Afterwards, we explored our own inner landscapes. We talked about which natural scenery we see ourselves in, and how it reflects our strengths and leadership qualities. We drew, shared our experiences, and learned deeply from one another.

Once again, nature became both our teacher and a mirror for understanding ourselves.

🌿 Day 6 & Day 7 – From Insight to Integration

The last two days of our Ecological Leadership journey were dedicated to turning insights into action and bringing learning into everyday life.

We explored how ecological awareness can become meaningful action through small acts of kindness for nature, collaborative activities, reflection, and shared responsibility. Throughout the week, we moved through gratitude, ecological pain, new perspectives, and finally toward action.

One of the most valuable lessons for us was realizing that leadership does not always begin with big changes. Sometimes it starts with listening more deeply, noticing our impact, and taking small but conscious steps.

As we reflected on our learning, received feedback, and gathered around the fire for our farewell ceremony, we felt grateful for the connections we built with people from different countries, cultures, and experiences. 🌍

The training is coming to an end, but the questions, inspiration, and sense of responsibility we discovered here will travel home with us.

Thank you, nature, for being our classroom. 💚
