SUPREMO VISITS THE PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN THE HAGUE
The Supreme Commander of the Knights of Rizal, Sir Emmanuel Calairo, KGCR, paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Embassy in The Netherlands, where he was warmly received by Sir J. Eduardo Malaya, KGOR, Ambassador of the Philippines to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The visit included a luncheon meeting and a meaningful exchange with members of the Knights of Rizal and Ladies of Rizal in the Netherlands and visiting Rizalian leaders from across Europe.
Netherlands Area Commander Sir Anton Lutter, KCR, formally welcomed the Supreme Commander and expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Malaya and the Philippine Embassy for their warm hospitality and for their continued trust, support and cooperation with the Knights of Rizal – Netherlands.
Joining the occasion were Netherlands Deputy Area Commander Sir Chris Sta Brigida-Kopp, KCR, Rotterdam Chapter Commander Sir Dan Lacorum KCR, Lady Dr Norma Lacorum, President of the Ladies of Rizal – The Hague, Sir Eduard Slootweg, KR of The Hague and Sir Eppo Horlings, KOR, Deputy Commander of The Hague and former Philippine Honorary Consul in Amsterdam.
The gathering was further enriched by the presence of European Regional Commander Sir Johnny Villa, KGOR, Belgian Area Commander Sir Geert Verhaegen, KGOR, and Supreme Council Member Sir Alexander Onia, KGOR, who joined the fellowship and welcomed the Supreme Commander to the Netherlands.
Also present was Sir Minister Jarie Osias, KCR, former Rome Chapter Commander and currently serving at the Philippine Embassy in The Hague.
The gathering was also marked by a wreath-laying ceremony at the José Rizal Garden in the Embassy courtyard, honouring the memory and legacy of the Philippine national hero.
The courtesy visit provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen fellowship among Rizalians, reaffirm the close relationship between the Knights of Rizal and the Philippine Embassy, and celebrate the continuing legacy of Dr José Rizal in Europe.
