Innovation in sport rarely begins in institutions — it much more often starts in communities. 🚵 That is where encouragement and support to experiment, innovate, fail, and try again should flow. 🧪

Our latest article, “Sports for Innovation: Supporting Experimentation Turns Ideas into Change,” explores how grassroots ideas grow into wider systems change when they are met with credibility, trust, flexibility, and visibility. The stories of Ignite365 innovators show that innovation is rarely linear. It requires space to experiment, adapt, learn, and refine. 💡

Beyond Sport

09/03/2026

For International Women's Day, we're turning to our partners and grantees to celebrate how they use the power of sport and play to change the playing field for gender justice. 🏃‍♀️⚽🛹

From football pitches to coding labs, from community spaces for young mothers to financial literacy games — sport and play are so much more than recreation. They're how girls, women and gender-expansive people come together, build power, and rewrite the rules.

When girls play, they learn to stand up, speak up, and lead. And when girls lead, the world changes. 💪

"Youth sports are most powerful when they are fun, accessible, and transformative; when they promote positivity, welcome inclusivity, and encourage growth, connection, and empowerment. It is a space where every child can belong, every voice is heard, and the lessons of empathy, teamwork, and resilience extend beyond the field into everyday life." — Reimagining Youth Sport: A Decision-Making Playbook for Youth Agency

Ashoka, an innovator of the Collective365 and part of the Olympism365 Innovation Hub, recently published the "Reimagining Youth Sport: A Decision-Making Playbook for Youth Agency". More about the playbook here ➡️ https://beyondsport.org/2026/01/29/reimagining-youth-sport-ashokas-playbook-for-advancing-youth-agency/

Beyond Sport

From coaches to funders, the decisions shaping youth sport matter. In a new playbook on reimagining youth sport, Ashoka invites leaders across the global sport ecosystem to rethink priorities and center youth agency in how sport is designed, delivered and experienced.

This moment in history can feel overwhelming—but it’s also a moment for smart, collective action.

The evidence is clear: investing in women-led movements accelerates progress on climate, democracy, and human rights—and women’s and feminist funds are critical to making that investment reach where it matters most.

That’s why hashtag , a new campaign to mobilise $600M USD annually for feminist movements, is so timely. It is about scaling the feminist funding ecosystem, making visible what’s already working, and moving resources to the right hands at the scale this moment demands.
