Holiday vacation starts at NDG🥳
After a hardworking year full of excitement and projects, the staff at the schools and office are preparing for a well deserved end of year holiday!
Remember this season is about 💙
Thank you to the NDG crew whom put their heart into this year and make the dream keep going.😊

Giving Tuesday finally is here – the global day for happiness and generosity.

Giving Tuesday is a worldwide celebration and an annual opportunity for people everywhere to share their kindness, time, money, goods, and advocacy. This year it is celebrated on 30th November, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
It was established in 2012 in New York City to encourage people to act generously and share what they can. In the recent years it has become a global movement and is now inspiring people from all over the world to be giving considering this special day.

Organizations around the globe participate in Giving Tuesday and so does “Niños de Guatemala”. The past years, this special day has become bigger and bigger and is now an essential annual campaign. It helps children in Guatemala to receive an education, that they would not have access to without Your donations.

It is an amazing opportunity for everybody to find some time after Black Friday and Cyber-Monday to donate money to a good cause and help children find their place in this world. NDG set up an easy account for fundraising for this occasion, in collaboration with Global Giving.

Global Giving set up a campaign for various NGOs to raise money. They are distributing a million-dollar fund that goes to various organizations depending on how much money they raise. Our project where we need your donation is "Help 550 children with their educational licenses" The project will be open from 00:00 hrs on November 30th until 23:59 hrs the same day, with that being said, We have to Save the date and keep the cause in mind! “Nowhere else in the world so many children are currently left without face-to-face schooling,” said Jean Gough, UNICEF Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. “This is the worst education crisis Latin America and the Caribbean has ever faced in its modern history. Many children have already lost one year of face-to-face schooling; now they started to lose another school year. Each additional day without face-to-face schooling puts the most vulnerable children at risk of dropping out of school forever.”

Gisteren liepen de kleuters en groepen 3-8 van de Lorentzschool voor hun leeftijdsgenootjes in Guatemala. Met de opbrengst van deze sponsorloop kan Stichting Niños de Guatemala Nederland tablets kopen voor de leerlingen in Guatemala, die nog steeds vanwege de coronacrisis thuis onderwijs krijgen. Trots!

De leerlingen van groep 3 tot en met 8 van de Lorentzschool in Leiden renden woensdagochtend rondjes voor het goede doel. Door de jaarlijkse sponsorloop te verplaatsen naar de hockeyvelden van Roomburg, kon deze ook dit jaar gewoon doorgaan. De kinderen zamelden met hun geren...
