gelijkertijd promoten wij duurzame alternatieven.

ASEED Europe (Action for Solidarity, Equality, Environment, and Diversity Europe) is an international campaigning organisation, giving importance to involving youth in direct democracy activities. ASEED Europe targets the structural causes of environmental destruction and social injustice. We do this by campaigning on multinational corporations and their national and international influence spheres and control tools. At the same time we promote sustainable alternatives. Currently ASEED Europe focuses on issues related to the global food chain: the decline of biodiversity in agriculture and the availability of seeds, genetic engineering and power concentration by global agro/biotech giants. Our general agriculture campaign goal is to promote food sovereignty. In the recent past we have been campaining on the massive production and imports of soy, climate change and international financial and trade institutions. ASEED was established by young engaged people in 1991 in response to the UNCED Earth Summit proceedings in Rio de Janeiro and aimed to forge alliances among young people committed to social and environmental justice. Since 1992, the ASEED decentralised network grew and regional “hubs” were created in Europe, Asia, North America, Africa, Latin America and Japan. Each hub had its own level of activity, linking youth groups and individuals in their region. By now each hub has developed in its own way, working independently from eachother. ASEED Europe works with about 6 people in the interactive office in Amsterdam, and together with many contacts in the rest of Europe and abroad on the following objectives:

- Initiating and coordinating actions and campaigns on environmental, development and social justice issues;

- Promoting discussion and disseminating information about critical emerging issues;

- Empowering local youth groups and grassroots organisations via trainings, joint projects, and knowledge sharing;

- Establishing partnerships between various organisations and groups worldwide and facilitating international cooperation and networking;

- Preparing projects from the ASEED Europe office and working with local grassroots organisations. More about ASEEDs goals you can read on aseed.net/en

As for all our other events, we want the Food Autonomy Festival to be a space that feels safe for every-body, everyone and every being.
With our Safer Space Agreement, we want to set the basis for this feeling and practice of safety to be present, and possibly activate conversation on how that can be implemented and improved in the future.
If you are going to attend the Food Autonomy Festival, please read this carefully: as ASEED, we want to create an environment of care, self-expression, mutual respect of boundaries, solidarity and joy together!🌱

Did you think we were done with our cooking collectives? Well, here is another announcement for you!🔊
This year, we are so happy to eat together the amazing food cooked by !🫶🏻

ElSufra is an Arab/Queer-led collective that was founded in an attempt to bring familiarity and create meaningful food experiences that foster mental well-being and cultural nostalgia. In Arabic (and more languages), ElSufra means the dining table; a space that holds more than food. It is a labor of love, where sharing takes place: sharing food, memories, laughter, or even silence.

Come share a table and more together at the Food Autonomy Festival 10, on June 13th and 14th at the Natuurkamer!💚

And here with already another cooking collective!🍛
We are so grateful to have joining and cooking for us again at the Food Autonomy Festival, happening on June 13th and 14th@ the Natuurkamer!

“De Sering was founded on the belief that strong communities are essential for activism—and for the political left as a whole. We live in a time of unprecedented isolation and loneliness, and we don’t see this as a coincidence.

As social connections weaken, so does the strength of activist and leftist movements. Rebuilding community isn’t just important—it’s critical for change. Since 2019, De Sering has been a community-driven space where food, culture, and activism intersect, offering 300 donation-based meals daily to ensure food remains accessible to all.

At the heart of De Sering is the Community Kitchen, fostering connection through affordable, plant-based meals. In the evenings, we host events, workshops, and cultural programming, creating a lively, inclusive atmosphere”

Dearest community, it is time to announce the COOKING COLLECTIVES🔥
The first one we have the pleasure to present you and to have at the Food Autonomy Festival (happening on June 13th and 14th @ the Natuurkamer) is

The Waste to Success is a community-driven initiative that transforms food waste into opportunities for connection, creativity, and food autonomy. Through workshops, shared meals, and educational activities, the project explores how surplus food can become a tool for empowerment, sustainability, and collective care. Their work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to healthy, culturally relevant food and the knowledge to shape their own food systems.

During the Food Autonomy Festival of ASEED, The Waste To Success wants to highlight the importance of food sovereignty in Amsterdam, with a special focus on our projects in Nieuw-West. In this part of the city, the initiative works together with local residents, community organisations, and volunteers to create spaces where food becomes a way to strengthen neighbourhood ties and build resilience.

One of our key initiatives of The Waste To Success is the Social Kitchen: a welcoming community space where people cook, eat, and learn together using rescued and locally sourced ingredients. The Social Kitchen is not only about reducing waste, but also about sharing cultures, skills, and stories. It creates opportunities for people from different backgrounds to connect while collectively imagining more just and sustainable food systems.

The Waste To Success aims to inspire practical alternatives to the current food system by showing how communities can reclaim control over food production, distribution, and consumption. By combining sustainability with social justice, it hopes to contribute to a future where food autonomy is accessible to everyone.
