🌍 EST Academy 2026 | The specialisation tracks are in full swing!
Halfway there…and what a start. 🚀
Three of our five tracks — Public Health & Environment, Human Rights & Migration, and Security & Defence — have completed their first two sessions, tackling complex questions with no easy answers.
🔹 Public Health & Environment
How do we make prevention a political priority? From prevention governance to pandemic preparedness and climate action, Roberto Bertollini, Ilaria Capua and Nadim Farajalla explored the challenges of turning evidence into long-term policy.
🔹 Human Rights & Migration
Can the words we use to describe migration shape people’s rights? Rachele Scardamaglia and Lisa Borrelli examined how legal categories, emotions, institutions and media narratives shape migration governance and social inclusion across Europe.
🔹 Security & Defence
What makes nuclear deterrence credible — and what happens when we look beyond states to the people affected by nuclear weapons? Polina Sinovets and Leila Hennaoui brought together strategic, humanitarian, legal and decolonial perspectives on nuclear governance.
At EST Academy, learning goes beyond acquiring knowledge. It’s about questioning assumptions, confronting competing perspectives and navigating complex policy choices.
A huge thank you to our guest speakers — Roberto Bertollini, Ilaria Capua, Nadim Farajalla, Rachele Scardamaglia, Lisa Borrelli, Polina Sinovets and Leila Hennaoui — for challenging and inspiring our participants. 💡
And to our participants: thank you for bringing curiosity, critical thinking and energy to every discussion. 🙌
Two sessions down. Two to go. The best is yet to come. 🚀
