Creativity has a generation gap, and everyone’s either pretending it doesn’t exist or to have the magical solution. Those fifteen years into their career and those fifteen months in are having a very different conversation about AI, ownership, loyalty, and what “good work” even means anymore. Usually they don’t have it in the same room.
So, we’re putting them in the same room.

Creative Collider: Common Ground is ADCN’s first Creative Town Hall – inspired by Jubilee’s Middle Ground format, rebuilt for our industry. No panel. No polite turn-taking. A line on the floor, a mic that moves hand to hand, and a set of statements designed to make people disagree on purpose.

You’ll stand physically where you actually stand mentally. You’ll get 90 seconds to make your case. And if someone changes your mind mid-sentence, you’re allowed, or encouraged, actually, to walk.

Bring an opinion. Leave with a slightly different one.

Announcing the panel for our next Creative Collider; Beyond the Rainbow!

As Pride campaigns quietly disappear from marketing calendars, we’re bringing together three sharp, distinct perspectives to unpack what’s really going on and what comes next.

Anna Berbers, Assistant Professor of Corporate Communication at the University of Amsterdam. Anna’s research examines how organizations engage with diversity and inclusion as political actors, with a particular focus on corporate social advocacy around Pride and LGBTQIA+ topics and how audiences perceive the authenticity and legitimacy of that communication.

STEPH MORROW, Head of Cultural Strategy at Uncommon Creative Studio, leads cultural strategy for brands like Under Armour and HUGO. Steph works at the intersection of culture and commerce, co-runs Amsterdam FLINTA+ collective Freï, and researches the algorithmic suppression of q***r artists. Her career – from Anomaly in New York to VICE in Amsterdam – is built on the belief that brands should earn their place in culture, not buy it.

Los Angles (Val Dechev, Alma Noor, Maria Walhou) is a transfemme-run collective focused on showcasing and nurturing trans talent. Founded in December 2022 by three trans women, Los Angles emerged from its founders’ frustration with the marginalisation of trans people in cultural spaces and nightlife. The collective is dedicated to showcasing and nurturing trans talent through large-scale T4T events.

Together, they’ll explore what’s driving the shifts within Pride branding, what it means for LGBTQIA+ visibility, and what authentic allyship should look like going forward.

Europe’s biggest creative stage just got bigger.

The ADCE Awards are open for entries. And for the first time in 35 editions, this isn’t just for winners. Every(!) entrant from the ADCN Awards now has a direct route onto the European stage. Not just the shortlist. Not just the trophy cabinet. Everyone.

Two things are new this year:
– Creativity by Industry Sectors; 40 categories built around real industry challenges, from healthcare to mobility to entertainment.
– Local Insight; a new category across every discipline, made for work that couldn’t have come from anywhere else. Rooted in a place. A community. A culture.

Judging runs in two online rounds this October, before the final round goes live at Disseny Hub Barcelona during ADCE Creative Week. Winners take the stage on 20 November.

Who doesn’t want the Netherlands loud on that stage this year?
We believe the work is good enough to be seen by the best creative minds in Europe, and this is where you show it.

Next up: Creative Collider #28 – Beyond the Rainbow

Not long ago, Pride season came with a predictable rebrand. Logos turned rainbow, limited-edition collections hit the shelves, and brands proudly declared that love is love. Visibility was everywhere, but so were the questions. Was this meaningful allyship, or just good marketing? Enter the term: rainbow washing.

Fast forward to today, and the landscape looks very different. The logos are fading, and Pride campaigns are being scaled back or disappearing altogether. According to Ogilvy, 39% of U.S. companies have stepped away from Pride-related branding over the past two years. In place of rainbow washing, a new phenomenon is emerging: rainbow hushing.

So, what changed? Is this a response to growing political pressure, or a correction of years of performative activism? How does this silence affect LGBT+ visibility and the fight for q***r rights? And as brands grow more cautious, what can the creative industry do to champion authentic support for the LGBT+ community?

Is local insight with global scale even possible?

Let’s call it “the global brief”. The sort of brief that typically wants culturally specific and locally resonant work, which must travel far enough to justify the budget. These two demands have a way of quietly cancelling each other out, and the industry has been managing that tension rather than solving it.

We Are Social Amsterdam is bringing together brand leaders and creative strategists for a panel conversation about whether scale, cultural depth and executional speed can genuinely coexist, and what it would actually take to get there.
