Happy Birthday, Mabel Escobar.

Hoy celebramos a una mujer que forma parte de la historia de I Love Chicas.

Today we celebrate a very special woman in the history of I Love Chicas.

Happy Birthday, Mabel Escobar.

There are people who arrive when everything is already built, and there are people who were there when it was still only an idea, a feeling and a dream.

Mabel was there at the beginning.

She was one of the first teachers who pushed me to take I Love Chicas seriously.

“Ponte seria, Yosery. No te dejes.”

I can still hear her saying it.

I gave her discipline, and she gave me strength.

We argued, we laughed, we danced, we travelled to festivals, we stood on stages, and yes
 I even deducted 15 minutes from her salary once because she arrived 15 minutes late. She never arrived late again.

Today that story still makes us laugh.

Together we experienced Fiesta Macumba and many other beautiful festivals and stages. And through the years I learned something important: being an artist is not about having an artist bracelet around your wrist.

We are artists because we create experiences, memories and smiles.

Today life has taken you to Colombia, you have started another chapter and you have become a mother.

We miss you, but more than anything, we are grateful.

Thank you for believing.
Thank you for pushing.
Thank you for being part of the beginning.

Tonight, we opened the doors of I Love Chicas again.

Despite the pain and concern we feel about what is happening in Colombia and Venezuela, we choose to transform those emotions into strength, hope and positive energy.

Thank you for supporting us and coming to our classes. Your presence means more than you may realize.

A special thank you from Maiick, who is Colombian and was feeling very sad tonight. You gave him the love, strength and energy he truly needed.

Venezuela and Colombia, united by one cause. We are Latinos.
We are a community. And together, we keep moving forward.
