A peer-to-peer fundraising campaign generated €85,000 in donations for the Small Animal Clinic at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Ghent University – but it also led to valuable new relationships, both with individuals and companies, that could be further developed for future support. Shortly after the campaign, the clinic also received three legacy gifts, and several individuals made enquiries about including the faculty or clinic in their wills.

The UK’s Chartered Institute of Fundraising is conducting a long-term study to better understand fundraising trends, and identify opportunities for charities to grow public support. To do this, the fundraising association has partnered with monthly public tracker CharityTracker UK to look at monthly fundraising activity at a sector level. The partnership’s first results reveal that 63% of tracker respondents were asked to donate to charity in August – mainly in-person.

The total assets of some of Switzerland’s leading foundations grew by 7.2% in 2025 (a slight drop on 2024’s 8.1%), while over five years, they've grown by 24% according to new research by SwissFoundations. The findings are based on data from 55 foundations with total assets of 15.1bn CHF (€16.1bn).

Trust-based philanthropy is gaining traction globally, championed by high-profile donors such as MacKenzie Scott and Melinda Gates, both of whom have directed substantial giving through trust-based, largely unrestricted models.

But does it deliver results? Analysis from Giva Sverige, examining the Svenska Postkodlotteriets Stiftelse's (The Swedish Postcode Lottery Foundation) flexible support scheme offers hard evidence that it’s an approach that works.
