Founded in 2004 at the Heiligeweg 41 in Amsterdam, this nomadic, non-profit gallery has since moved to different locations in Amsterdam, initiating many interesting projects and being a host for many other organisations who needed a cheap and relaxt venue. ilig wants to give beginning artists, performers, musicians and organisations a place to perform and to experiment in its broadest sence. Galerie Schijnheilig has been residing at the Heiligeweg 41, Sint Antoniesbreestraat 64, Ferdinand Bol 1, Koningsplein 1, Jollemanhof and the beautiful, rawcus location Passeerdersgracht 23, which has been evicted brutally in July 2011. At present Schijnheilig organizes all events, like Activistische Salon, Atomic Cinema, De Weerzin and Live Clash, at the Vondelbunker in the Vondelpark.
