For all our English speaking friends in Amsterdam: This is your last chance to hone your Dutch skills with our enchanting audio walk Een Vrouwelijk Geluid!
On Friday October 9 at 5:00 p.m., the final walk of “Een Vrouwelijk Geluid” (A Woman’s Voice) is scheduled. Afterward, around 6:15 p.m., we’ll wrap up with a joint after-talk and a lecture by Lotte Reijnders, who, for her master’s thesis, conducted extensive research on feminist geography, the feminist city, and the question of how we can design cities to be more women-friendly.
This final walk and the discussion will focus on the next generation: the twenty-somethings who can take the baton from the generations that have been committed to feminism and equality for years.
During the walk, we’ll hear the stories of women who, at different times and in different ways, have worked to bring about change. What can we, as the new generation, learn from them? And what does this era demand of us? Because the work isn’t done. The city is changing, the way we relate to public space is changing, and every generation reshapes feminism anew.
On October 9, following the audio walk, we’ll look ahead. What do we carry forward from the generations before us, and what new ideas, questions, and forms can we add to that? We’ll discuss the feminist city as it was, as it is, and as it can be designed for everyone.
