Thailand’s Marriage Equality: A Win for Love and Justice! 🌈

The Filipino LGBT Europe Foundation celebrates with Thailand as it takes a monumental step forward in advancing human rights and love for all. The passage of Marriage Equality in Thailand is not just a win for its LGBTQIA+ community but also a beacon of hope for countries in Asia striving for justice and equality—including the Philippines.

While Thailand has shown the world that love knows no bounds, the Philippines continues to battle for the long-overdue SOGIE Equality Bill. This landmark legislation is critical to protecting Filipinos of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions against discrimination.

The progress in Thailand inspires us to push harder in our fight for equal rights, marriage equality, and a society that truly embraces diversity. Let us not lose hope, and let this moment remind us that change is possible when we come together and stand firm for what is right.

To our Filipino lawmakers: it’s time to catch up and stand on the right side of history. Equality delayed is equality denied.

Together, let’s continue working toward a Philippines where love, dignity, and equality are not just dreams, but realities.

What a great news , let’s hope the Philippines follows soon 🤞🏼

In Thailand, starting today, people of the same gender can now get married. This makes Thailand the first country in Southeast Asia to grant equal rights to LGBT couples and heterosexual couples.

In Asia, Thailand is now the third country to open marriage to everyone. This was previously done by Taiwan and Nepal.

The Netherlands was the first country in the world to allow same-sex marriage in 2001. Over the past years, 36 countries, mostly in Western Europe, North America, and South America, have followed this decision.

Bayota Community Center conducted FREE HIV Testing

On Wednesday, 20 November 2024 in observance of HIV Testing Week Bayota Community Centre hosted GGD Amsterdam’s HIV information and testing campaign during its Wednesday Night Fellowship Salo-Salo in Amsterdam.

Thank you very much to everyone who participated and joined our Fellowship Salo-Salo.

Bayota Free HIV Testing was made possible thanks to our partner organisations:

Bayota FREE HIV Screening on 20 Nov 2024

In observance of European Testing Week (18-25 Nov 2024), there will be a FREE HIV Screening on Wednesday, 20 Nov 2024 during Bayota Wednesday Potlock Salo-Salo at Bayota Community Centre located at Droogbak 15, 1013 GG Amsterdam from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm.

This initiative is a project by Filipino LGBT Europe Foundation & Bayota Community Centre in partnership with Dokters Van de Wereld, GGD Amsterdam, Ayuda sa Amsterdam and the Philippine Alliance of Healthcare Professionals in the Netherlands.
