23 days later, Ukraine declared its independence.

35 years later, the answer could not be clearer. It was one of the most important choices we ever made.

What if we told you that Dutch children are also exposed to Russian propaganda through social media?

What if we told you that even the most advanced NATO military protocols are not always aligned with the realities of modern warfare?

And what if we told you that while Ukraine is fighting to defend its freedom and the freedom and values of Europe it is also gaining experience that could be vital for Europe’s future security?

Yet much of this experience is still not being shared widely enough.

This is why we founded Ukraine Unfiltered.

Together, WRKfor, Netherlands for Ukraine Foundation, and Robin Imthorn, we are joining forces to bring the realities of this war directly to Dutch society.

We will organize Q&A sessions at schools, where Ukrainian veterans can openly answer young people’s questions and speak about the war without filters or propaganda.

We will give lectures and create opportunities for Ukrainian veterans to share their first-hand experience with Dutch military units.

And this is only the beginning.

Ukraine Unfiltered is about sharing the truth of this war and making sure the lessons Ukraine is learning at an enormous price are not lost.

Great news on our Seconds to Save fundraiser ⏰ Goal reached. Units delivered!

We launched Seconds to Save with a simple goal: raise €17,200 to get 20 electrosurgical units into Ukrainian hospitals.

You made it happen.

The money is raised. The equipment is bought. And all 20 units have now been delivered to hospitals in Ukraine.

What started as a number on a fundraiser page is now real equipment in real operating rooms.

Huge thanks to the Soloveyko Foundation, Galyna Bilych, Mykhailo Bilych and Andriy Vasin for raising €5,000 through Moonlight over Podil — an instrumental classical music concert that turned beautiful music into real support for Ukraine.

And to the Oekraïense Club in Zaandam for raising €4,580.71 during their unforgettable celebration of Ivana Kupala and Ukrainian traditions.

And to every single person who donated, shared and helped spread the word.

You helped turn seconds into a better chance to save a life. 🇺🇦❤️

🚚 TREASURE? Ours looks like what you see in the photos below.

A full truck of medical equipment: surgical and anesthesiology gear, procedure chairs, and so much more, headed straight into an operating room where it's needed now.

In Ukraine, hospitals are working in extreme conditions. We've talked about this many times before, and it's still true.

Huge thanks to Bergman Clinics for donating this incredibly important equipment. It's going to upgrade a hospital that treats an endless stream of wounded soldiers and civilians.

Finding a truck right now is its own battle. If you follow the news, you know why. Luckily we have amazing partners. Stichting De Leeuw Kyiv found one anyway and got everything to the Cherkasy Regional Veterans' Hospital.

A massive thank you to World Fashion Centre for giving us warehouse space. Without it, we simply couldn't organize shipments at this scale.

And a special thank you to Maria Negrutsa. You wouldn't guess it looking at her, but she's our main loader, our logistics brain, and honestly the best humanitarian aid manager in the world💪

And the other superheroes here are the people who came to load the truck. Veterans in rehab. A retired Dutch couple... People who showed up and did the work, smiling the whole time.

Thank you all. This is what it looks like when people just... help.

We've already told you about the steps of NL4Superhumans: the trainings in the Netherlands, the teams who went home to train their colleagues, and the plan for an online course to keep that knowledge spreading.
Here we go: step 3 has started 🎬
On Friday we began recording our online educational program for Ukrainian medics. Fittingly, our first speakers came from De Hoogstraat, where the filming also took place.
More speakers and sessions are coming soon. Stay tuned 💛💙

This project is funded by the Ukraine Partnership Facility (UPF), a programme from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland - RVO), commissioned by the Netherlands’ Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken. UPF supports damage repair and reconstruction projects for the public and private sectors. UPF aims to help the sustainable recovery of Ukraine's economy and society in the healthcare, water, and agricultural sectors.

Knowledge is one of the few things that grows when you share it.
Two years later, that's exactly what we've seen: 150 Dutch trainers, 392 Ukrainian healthcare professionals, and an impact that keeps multiplying.

This Friday, we wrapped up the Dutch chapter of an incredible journey - NL4Superhumans educational program.
Spoiler: it’s not the end!

Our Dutch partner rehabilitation centres came together with the final Ukrainian team from Vinnytsia at De Hoogstraat Revalidatie - our host centre and one of our key partners throughout the last three training rounds. Looking around the room, it was impossible not to feel proud. Proud of what we've built together. Proud to have such dedicated partners.

Our goal was never to train just six teams. It was to multiply knowledge.
Here's how the programme works:
🇳🇱 Step 1: Six multidisciplinary Ukrainian rehabilitation teams completed intensive six-week trainings in the Netherlands, led by 150 Dutch rehabilitation experts.
🇺🇦 Step 2: Those teams returned home and became trainers themselves, sharing what they learned with colleagues across Ukraine. So far, in total 392 medics (including 3D specialists ) have been reached and the final follow-up trainings this autumn will grow that number even further.
💻 Step 3: Next comes an online learning course, making this expertise accessible to rehabilitation professionals across Ukraine and ensuring the knowledge continues to spread long after the programme ends.
And here's the number we're probably most proud of:
Today, more than 50 multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams across Ukraine work with this same approach. Together, they treat around ±20,000 patients every year.
That's how knowledge scales.

This educational programme grew around another important milestone: Superhumans Dnipro - a 2,800 m² rehabilitation centre built close to the frontline, so patients no longer need to travel across the country to receive care.
The program is run by the Netherlands for Ukraine Foundation, Healthcare for Ukraine, Superhumans Center.

This project is funded by the Ukraine Partnership Facility (UPF), a programme from Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland - RVO, commissioned by Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken UPF supports damage repair and reconstruction projects for the public and private sectors. We have good news and good news!
But first, let us report like a grown-up foundation 😎

Look at the first picture: when we delivered the aid package within «Three Hospitals on the Edge 2.0» to the hospital in Dnipro, a drone shrapnel hit the hospital that very same day.
Just imagine. The same day!

This is something we hear again and again from all across Ukraine - hospitals are one of Russia’s favorite targets for missile strikes. That’s why your support matters so much.

Thanks to everyone who donated to «Three Hospitals on the Edge 2.0», here’s what we delivered, and this is the first good news:

Kramatorsk: Wound care (VAC) consumables, EUR 14,494.00
Kherson: Plasma thawer, EUR 9,553.39
Dnipro: Laparoscopic instruments, EUR 4,649.00

Total amount spent: EUR 28,696.39 - and that is the second good news 😉
We secured better prices and raised a bit more than planned (EUR 36,725).

When a wounded Ukrainian reaches the operating table after yet another shelling, the surgeons have only seconds (!not minutes!) to control the bleeding and save a life.

This is happening RIGHT NOW in hospitals from Kherson to Dnipro and Cherkasy, where surgeons are working past capacity through blast injuries and mass casualty events.

We're raising €17,200 for 20 electrosurgical units (ES-120). These devices that cut tissue AND stop bleeding at the same time. That means:
⚡ faster surgeries
🩸 less blood loss
🎯 more precise operations
❤️ higher chances of survival

“Put your own oxygen mask on first - then help the person next to you.”
Not just airline safety talk. The real foundation of what our Guardian Angels do.
This week we ran a training for our volunteers - the people who show up for military and civilian patients in the Netherlands every single day. Together with psychologists from Empatia Program, we dug into trauma-informed care, communicating with military patients, and the thing nobody talks about enough: how to keep giving without running empty.

The training was built around our specific work and realities - and that takes real effort. Thank you, Empatia. We genuinely mean it. And yes, we promise to actually follow the advice 😉
Bonus: we learned some anonymous fun facts about each other. Turns out our volunteers once dreamed of being Indiana Jones, astronauts, forensic investigators, ballerinas… or just having a magic wand. Honestly? Makes total sense.
A quick reminder of why this all matters: thanks to our Guardian Angels community, we can support military patients in the Netherlands - no matter who organized their evacuation. Together we’ve already been there for hundreds of them. 164 evacuations organized by NL4UA directly. 💙💛
