Between deepening my work in Europe, connecting with leaders and changemakers in Italy, and staying close to clients and colleagues in the U.S., I’m hearing the same themes echoing across continents:

🌍 How do we stay grounded?
🌏 How do we keep our nervous systems regulated when everything around us feels uncertain?
🌎 How do we turn exhaustion into clarity—and conflict into opportunity?

I’ve been sitting with these questions, not just for myself, but for those I support through coaching and facilitation.

And the answer, more often than not, comes down to this:

Resilience isn’t about pushing through.

It’s about remembering who you are when everything else feels like it’s unraveling.
It’s about staying in relationship—with your body, your heart, your values—when the noise gets loud.

If these are questions you’re asking too, know that you’re not alone.

There are ways through. And there are practices, tools, and moments of connection that remind us of our power.

I’ve opened more space for coaching tracks—because more than ever, people are craving not just support, but transformation.

If this speaks to you or someone in your circle, I’d be honored to connect.

One year ago today, my TEDx talk “A Cure for Chronic Niceness” was released into the world.

We’ve just crossed 4,100 views—and while that may not seem like a viral milestone, I see it differently.

If even 1% of those viewers were moved to speak their truth, shift one pattern of bullying, or step more fully into courageous connection—that’s 40 people impacting the world around them.

And the ripple effects of those actions? Immeasurable.

The message of Fierce Civility was timely a year ago. It’s even more urgent now.

If you haven’t watched in a while, I invite you to take another look. Maybe it will land differently this time.

And if you’ve found value in the talk, consider sharing it with someone who might need it right now.

Let’s keep the message moving... Small actions. Big ripples. Fierce hope.

Let's un-divide the world, together. 🌍

The next Global Heart Gathering is happening Monday, April 8 at 12pm ET — and I'd love for you to join us.

Over the last few gatherings, we’ve reflected deeply on what it means to stay grounded in a world that feels increasingly unstable. Together, we’ve explored…

🌍 How to respond—rather than react—in times of fear and uncertainty.
🌍 The power of resilience rooted in presence and heart.
🌍 How to navigate polarization without getting stuck in extremes.
🌍 The roles we can each play: refuge, soothing, and transformation.

These gatherings are more than conversations... they’re spaces to reconnect with your center… with your values… and with a global community committed to co-creating something new.

Because let’s face it—these are trying times. And we need each other more than ever.

Mark your calendar. Bring your presence. Let’s keep growing together.

It’s easy to believe that the chaos of the world is someone else’s fault. That the division, the polarization, the breakdown in trust—it’s all because of them.

But what if we had the courage to ask: What have I done or not done that contributed to where we are now?

In my book, Fierce Civility, I lay out four conclusions that I believe we need to embrace if we want real, lasting change:

1️⃣ No one is exempt from both the responsibility and the consequences of determining what our shared future will look like.
2️⃣ Working together is the only viable path to a future that still holds hope.
3️⃣ The willingness to talk with one another in ways that overcome differences must underlie and enable collaboration in order to lead to better solutions.
4️⃣ How we are presently communicating isn’t working. We need an upgraded way to engage.

I want to focus on that first point: No one is exempt.

Taking responsibility doesn’t mean taking the blame. It means recognizing that even if we didn’t personally cause the storm, we’re all in the same boat—and we either learn to navigate together or we go down together.

So instead of focusing on who created the mess, let’s shift our energy toward how we clean it up—together.

Lately, I’ve been hearing from so many people who feel stuck—like the world is spinning out of control and there’s nothing they can do about it.

I get it. These times are demanding. And it’s easy to feel powerless in the face of so much uncertainty.

But here’s the truth: You still have POWER. You still have AGENCY. You still have a CHOICE.

That’s why I’m extending the Resilient Power Assessment (RPA) coaching offer through the end of February. Because THIS MOMENT is asking us to step up—not with fear, but with clarity and purpose.

This session is about understanding your unique relationship with power, so you can navigate these times from a place of resilience and intention—not reactivity or despair.

Let’s use this time to regain our footing, together.

BIG NEWS!!!

The Italian edition of Fierce Civility, Gentilezza Impetuosa: dal Conflitto al Confronto, has officially launched! 🇮🇹✨

This journey began when a group of passionate individuals approached me with a vision: to bring the teachings and practices of Fierce Civility to a wider audience across Italy, the Netherlands and throughout Europe.

At a time when polarization and division continue to challenge communities worldwide, I believe the message of Fierce Civility—centered on courage, understanding, and meaningful dialogue—can serve as a powerful guide for transformation and connection - ESPECIALLY at this time.

BIGGER NEWS!!

I will be spending time this year in Italy to work with the publisher FrancoAngeli to promote the book - giving interviews, lectures and workshops. I’m so looking forward to seeing how these teachings will resonate in not only Italy, but also the Netherlands and throughout Europe, inspiring individuals, teams, and organizations to lead and engage with one another with authenticity, resilience, and fierce compassion.

I wanted to share a special moment with you—the unboxing of the very first printed copy of the Italian edition! 📦📖 👉 https://lnkd.in/eAK2bkV5

If you would like to be kept up to date with my journeys in both Europe and the US, sign up for our newsletter at www.joeweston.com

As we reach the seventh and final Practice for Lasting Peace, I want to focus on the essence of Community. In times like these, feeling connected, supported, and part of something greater has never been more essential.

We began with practices that started within ourselves—finding Inner Peace, aligning with Personal Philosophy, and practicing Courageous Self-Reflection. From there, we explored Understanding, Engagement, and Helping Hand to deepen our connections with others. And now we come full circle with Community, because true, lasting peace isn’t something we cultivate alone; it flourishes in our connections.

Community is about finding individuals and groups who align with our values, where we feel seen and uplifted. It’s a space to grow, challenge, and empower each other. And it goes beyond our differences—whether background, race, gender, or beliefs—uniting us in shared values like respect, dignity, and cooperation.

In my work with leaders and global peace initiatives, I’ve seen firsthand how creating spaces of trust and authenticity is essential to lasting progress. Community isn’t a display of niceness; it’s a fierce commitment to show up, support, and engage, especially during challenging times.

Today, take a moment to reflect: What does community mean to you? How can you actively contribute to a community that grows and thrives?

Let's come together, virtually or face-to-face, and create a “Heart” community—a powerful force for resilience, belonging, and positive change. Let’s undivide the world, together. 🌍

In a world filled with conflict, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and powerless. But sometimes, the most impactful action we can take is also the simplest—helping another person, even in a small way.

Today, I’m sharing the sixth practice on the path to lasting peace: Helping Hand. This practice is a call to action, inviting us to extend kindness, support, or service each day to friends, family, colleagues, or even strangers. These gestures might seem small, but they carry the potential to create significant ripples of change.

There’s power in everyday acts of kindness. Offering a helping hand not only benefits those we support but also has a profound effect on us. It deepens our connections, boosts our sense of purpose, and builds a culture of mutual empowerment—one that’s essential for creating a world of peace and unity.

When you give, you’re not just helping; you’re building bridges of understanding, trust, and compassion.

This week, try seeking ways to offer a helping hand:
✨ Hold the door open for someone, even if you’re in a rush.
✨ Share a kind word with a friend or colleague who seems stressed.
✨ Reach out to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while, just to let them know they’re in your thoughts.
✨ Volunteer for a cause you care about, even if it’s just for a short time.

These simple acts may seem small, but they carry the power to inspire a lasting culture of peace, both within us and around us.

How will you extend a helping hand today? 🌍💙

As we stand at the beginning of a new year, I find myself reflecting on all that we navigated together in 2024—the challenges, the lessons, and the moments of profound connection.

This last year, I talked often about cultivating inner peace, leading with fierce compassion, and finding strength in community. We explored what it means to bridge divides, to hold space for differing perspectives, and to reclaim our power even in the face of uncertainty.

Now, as we begin 2025, my wish is simple yet powerful: May this be a year of hopeful renewal—a time to restore our hearts, replenish our spirits, and recommit to the work of creating a world rooted in dignity, respect, and belonging for all.

Together, let’s:

✨ Lead with courage and compassion in our actions and conversations.

✨ Build bridges instead of walls, finding unity in our differences.

✨ Empower one another to show up authentically and collaboratively.

✨ Anchor ourselves in hope, even when the road feels uncertain.

The work ahead isn’t easy, but I truly believe we are capable of transformation—both individually and collectively. Let’s continue walking this path together, step by step, heart by heart.

Let's un-divide the world, together!

Wishing you a joyful, peaceful, and empowering start to 2025. With gratitude for all that we shared last year, and with hope for what’s ahead.

12/12/2024

In moments of conflict, it can be tempting to withdraw or disengage. But true peace doesn’t come from avoiding challenges and conflict—it comes from leaning into them with open hearts and clear minds. That’s why Engagement is the fifth practice on the path to lasting peace.

Statistics are showing us the alarming increase in loneliness, isolation and depression. The symptoms of this chronic breakdown of engagement and community may not be seen on the surface, but they are affecting all parts of our lives and making the possibilities for a culture of lasting peace seem farther away.

Engagement means staying present and maintaining respectful interaction, even when it’s uncomfortable. It’s about committing to the conversation, not walking away when things get tough.

Whether you’re connecting with a loved one, a colleague, or even a stranger, staying engaged is a courageous act of transformation.

For years, I’ve seen the impact that this practice has had in communities. When we lean into difficult conversations—rather than avoid them—the results are remarkable. It creates a culture where people feel seen, heard, and valued, which leads to deeper trust, stronger relationships, understanding and lasting change.

If we can't even find authentic ways to connect with our neighbors, open a door for someone as you enter a building, send a text to someone you haven't been in touch with for a while, what makes us think that we can end our wars and works towards lasting peace?

This week, I invite you to engage rather than withdraw. Take one conversation you might usually avoid and show up with presence, curiosity, and an open heart. Listen, ask questions, and keep the dialogue going, even if it’s hard.

How will you practice engagement today?
