Dit is CyclusWijzer: een serie workshops over gezonde menstruatie 🩸

In deze GRATIS workshops leer je meer over je menstruatie en kan je er met anderen erover praten in een veilige omgeving. De inhoud is ontwikkeld samen met medische experts en biedt praktische handvatten: van het begrijpen van je cyclus en het omgaan met klachten tot het vinden van passende zorg en het opkomen voor jezelf bij medische instellingen.

✨Deelnemers ontvangen ook een gratis herbruikbare menstruatie product en leren hoe ze deze kunnen gebruiken. ✨

"Instagram knows you had unprotected s*x"

Do you use a cycle-tracking or pregnancy app? There’s a good chance that your intimate and sensitive data is being used to make money—without your consent. 💸

"My uterus is a business model."

Many cycle-tracking and pregnancy apps build a detailed profile of you based on your data. As a result, advertisers can learn an enormous amount about your medical situation and health, and use that information to target you with ads—for example, when you’re pregnant.

That’s why Bits of Freedom is filing a complaint against the widely used cycle-tracking app Flo with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

🇳🇱 Gebruik jij een cyclus- of zwangerschapsapp? Grote kans dat jouw intieme en gevoelige data wordt gebruikt om aan te verdienen, zonder jouw toestemming. 💸

Veel cyclus- en zwangerschapsapp maken een gedetailleerd profiel van jou aan de hand van jouw data. Daardoor weten adverteerders ontzettend veel over jouw medische situatie en gezondheid en kunnen ze daarop inspelen door targeted advertenties te laten zien wanneer je bijvoorbeeld zwanger bent.

Bits of Freedom dient daarom over de veelgebruikte cyclusapp Flo een klacht in bij de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Wij willen Samen het gesprek openen: een menstruatie workshop zonder taboes

Menstruatie is iets waar de helft van de mensen mee te maken hebben, maar waar we nog veel te weinig open over praten. In deze workshop maken we daar samen ruimte voor. Geen ongemakkelijke stiltes, maar eerlijke gesprekken, praktische informatie en herkenning in kleine kring.

Of je nu nieuwsgierig bent, vragen hebt, of gewoon wilt luisteren: je bent welkom. Het draait om samenkomen, kennis delen en het gesprek normaler maken.

Wie zijn wij? En wie ben jij?
De workshop wordt begeleid door een mix van mensen: een vertegenwoordiger van Neighborhood Feminists die alles regelt op de locatie, een workshopbegeleider met een medische achtergrond, en ambassadeurs uit de buurt die het gesprek begeleiden en zorgen dat het aansluit bij de groep.
En jij? Iedereen van 18 jaar en ouder is welkom. We kijken ernaar uit om in gesprek te gaan met mensen met verschillende achtergronden, ervaringen en perspectieven. Juist die mix maakt het gesprek rijker en interessanter.

With a background in economics and a master’s in financial risk management, Charis brings a strategic lens to advocacy at NF. She’s passionate about advancing women’s rights through education, awareness, and policy - empowering people to know and claim their rights. She firmly believes that with the right approach (and the right ask!), anything is possible. When she’s not championing change, you’ll find her running (marathon training mode is on!), lifting, or climbing - always up for a new challenge!

Two menstruation stations stocked with free menstruation products are installed at .nowhere One outside right by the entrance (accessible 24/7) and one inside by the bathrooms.It is stocked with free period products for anyone in need to grab, no questions asked. This initiative from Neighborhood Feminists is one of the ways we fight period poverty in Amsterdam, where 14% of the people who menstruate were not able to afford the products they need (CODE RED research 2024). There are 65 Menstruation Stations across Amsterdam, check out the map on the NF website to find the closest one to you!

NEWS: Today, we release our 2026 narrative research. We’ve been tackling period poverty for over 6 years, and that has included quantitative research, to support our advocacy. With this report, we are looking behind the data at the lived experiences of those experiencing menstrual exclusion.

Our most heartfelt thanks to the supportive team at , most especially lead researcher Marjolein Kok, along with our own NF advisor , both of whom were essential in helping us access a more personal look at the impact of period poverty in the Netherlands. We are grateful to the wonderful María Peiro Torralba who conceived and designed the graphics. We worked hard on this, together, because we continue to believe everyone should be able to menstruate with dignity.

🇳🇱NIEUWS: Vandaag publiceren we ons narratieve onderzoek 2026. Al meer dan 6 jaar bestrijden we menstruatiearmoede. Naast onze kwantitatief onderzoek laten we met dit rapport de geleefde ervaringen zien van mensen die menstruatie uitsluiting meemaken.
Onze dank gaat uit naar het team van , Marjolein Kok in het bijzonder, en onze NF-adviseur , die beiden cruciaal waren voor deze inzichten.
