CHICABRAVA Camp Bella is a women empowerment program we host yearly.

Camp Bella or “beautiful” in spanish, is a five day surf-experience camp that will take place February 1-5, 2016. Each year, CHICABRAVA hosts a charitable surf camp empowerment program, Camp Bella, for under resourced young women in Nicaragua. In previous years, we focused exclusively on aiding in the rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking. In 2015, we expanded our outreach program to incl

ude a broader mission of combatting cultural gender inequality in Nicaragua and overcoming the negative effects of generations of gender oppression, particularly in the domestic setting. This year, we are focusing on our local community and excitedly welcome you to get involved as we change the lives of 13 young women from San Juan del Sur. Our vision is to help the young women of Nicaragua to “break the mold” of gender inequality, to strive for healthy bodies and minds, to be determined to unapologetically pursue their goals, and to demand respect in all areas of their lives.
