A student of Ahmadu Bello University shared this funny yet heartwarming experience:

Before my roommate and I went to bed yesterday, he told me he had a test this morning and needed to wake up during the night to read. He said once it was a few minutes past 1:00 a.m., I should wake him up. I immediately asked, “What if I sleep off?” He replied, “Let’s see how it goes—I’ve already prepared, I just want to revise.”
As time went on, I slept peacefully before him, knowing I had nothing serious the next morning except attending my chosen lectures.
Sometime in the middle of the night, around 1:45 a.m., he woke me up and said they had just paid his Kogi State students’ bursary. Immediately I heard that, my sleep disappeared! I jumped out of bed, grabbed my phone from where it was charging, and quickly checked for my own alert… but saw nothing.
Instead of explaining why I hadn’t received anything, he burst into laughter. I was annoyed but calm enough to ask, “What’s funny?” Then he replied, “IT WAS APRIL FOOL,” in the calmest voice, adding that someone sent it to him on WhatsApp and I was the closest person he could prank.
I told him “wanka,” and jokingly warned that if he tried such nonsense again, I would remove his teeth—with a smile on my face.
I went back to bed, and just before I slept off again, it crossed my mind… it’s my birthday month—April, once again.
While reflecting, I realized how small my world has been—just work, survival, and fear. But today, I can say life has shown me countless times that there’s so much worth living for. These moments keep rekindling my hope and belief in the path I’ve chosen.
He added:
Happy birthday in advance to me.

Subject: Appeal for the Release of Kogi State Students’ Bursary

Your Excellency,

We write with utmost respect and a deep sense of responsibility on behalf of Kogi State students, particularly members of the National Association of Ebira Students (NAES), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Chapter.
We humbly bring to your attention the delay in the release of the Kogi State bursary. Many students across various institutions are earnestly expecting this financial support, which has consistently served as a vital relief for those facing academic and financial challenges.
Your Excellency, the bursary scheme is more than just financial assistance; it is a symbol of hope, encouragement, and the government’s commitment to education and youth development. In the face of the current economic realities, many students depend heavily on this support to pay tuition fees, purchase academic materials, fund research and projects, and meet basic living expenses.
Final-year students, in particular, face significant financial demands, including project research, fieldwork, and other professional requirements. The bursary plays a crucial role in easing these burdens and enabling students to focus on their academic pursuits without undue financial strain.
We sincerely acknowledge and appreciate your administration’s efforts toward the growth and development of Kogi State. We strongly believe in your commitment to education as a tool for empowerment and sustainable progress. It is in this spirit that we respectfully appeal for the prompt release of the bursary to alleviate the challenges faced by students and their families.
Your Excellency, investing in students is investing in the future of Kogi State. Today’s students are tomorrow’s engineers, doctors, teachers, administrators, and leaders. Supporting them now will ensure a stronger and more prosperous Kogi State.
We remain hopeful that our appeal will receive your kind and urgent consideration.
Thank you, Your Excellency, for your time and attention.
Yours faithfully

A student of Cus Tech penned this powerful reflection — and it speaks to so many of us:
Do you know how it feels to work… yet it still seems like you’re not doing enough?
You wake up before the sun rises. Your eyes are heavy, but your mind is already racing. There’s a to-do list waiting, dreams calling your name, responsibilities tapping you on the shoulder. So you move. You push. You try.
Hours pass.
You’ve replied to messages, completed tasks, learned something new, fixed what broke, planned what’s next. From the outside, it looks like progress. But inside? There’s that quiet whisper:
“It’s not enough.”
You scroll and see others achieving more. You compare timelines. You measure your effort against someone else’s highlight reel. Suddenly, your sleepless nights feel small. Your sacrifices feel invisible.
You sit back for a moment and wonder, “Am I really trying… or am I just busy?”
And that’s the part no one talks about.
The part where you’re exhausted but still feel behind. The part where you’re growing but can’t see the growth. The part where you’re giving your all, yet questioning your all.
But here’s the truth we often forget:
Growth is quiet. Seeds don’t shout while they’re sprouting underground. And progress doesn’t always announce itself with applause.
Sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is keep going — even when it feels unseen. Even when it feels slow. Even when it feels like you’re not enough.
Because one day, you’ll look back at this season — the sleepless nights, the doubts, the silent prayers — and realize…
You were doing more than enough.
You were building strength you couldn’t yet see.
You were becoming.

APPRECIATION MESSAGE TO DAM FOUNDATION

On behalf of the entire members of NAES ABU Zaria Chapter, we sincerely express our heartfelt appreciation to the DAM Foundation, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Abdullahi Mustapha, for awarding full scholarships to 50 outstanding students in the 2026 Phase I Undergraduate & Diploma Scholarship Programme.
This remarkable gesture is not just financial support; it is an investment in dreams, in potential, and in the future of our nation. By covering the full tuition of beneficiaries until graduation, the DAM Foundation has demonstrated an uncommon commitment to educational advancement and national development.

Your dedication to empowering young scholars across critical fields such as Engineering, Medicine, Law, and other disciplines is truly inspiring.
