PSNA Honours PTDF Executive Secretary at 2025 Maiden Award Ceremony
The Public Speakers Network of Africa (PSNA), in collaboration with the Prestige Golden Voice Communication Institute and the Coalition for Better Adamawa, successfully hosted its 2025 maiden award ceremony in Adamawa State.
The prestigious event, themed “Celebrating Voices That Build Africa,” honoured the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to human capital development in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
The ceremony attracted an array of distinguished personalities from across the country. In attendance were the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri; the HRH, the Lamido of Adamawa; former Ministers of the Federal Capital Territory; former PTDF Executive Secretaries; a former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC); retired senior security officials; former Secretaries to the State Government; current and former Vice Chancellors; professors, scholars, and respected community leaders.
Proceedings commenced with opening prayers, followed by the formal recognition of dignitaries and a welcome address delivered by the Chairman, Board of Trustees of PSNA, Amb. (Dr.) Hassan Adamu, CON, DSC, FNIM, who highlighted PSNA’s mission to promote leadership, effective communication, and societal development across Africa.
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, who underscored the critical role of visionary leadership and sustained investment in human capital as key drivers of Africa’s long-term development.
Goodwill messages from members of the Nigerian diaspora added international perspective and depth to the programme, after which Alhaji Aminu was formally cited for his exemplary leadership, institutional reforms, and commitment to national development.
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Ahmed Galadima Aminu expressed profound appreciation to PSNA and its partners for the recognition. He emphasized the importance of strategic leadership, institutional strengthening, and youth empowerment in building resilient and sustainable communities.
The event also featured special performances by PSNA children, including poetry recitations and paper presentations, reflecting PSNA’s commitment to nurturing young voices and future leaders.
Alhaji Aminu’s tenure at PTDF has been marked by impactful developmental interventions across Adamawa State. Notable projects include the construction of ICT centres, mechanical engineering workshops, skill acquisition centres, and e-libraries in institutions such as Adamawa State Polytechnic, Federal Polytechnic Mubi, Federal Government Girls’ College, and Aliyu Mustafa College, Yola.
These initiatives form part of PTDF’s broader strategy to strengthen local capacity, promote technical education, and enhance both local and international partnerships in education and research.
Speaking as Special Guest of Honour, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri commended Alhaji Aminu for his service and impact, stating: “Ahmed Galadima is being recognized at home for the good work he has done. I am here not only to support him but to acknowledge the effort and impact of his leadership.”
The Governor added that recognizing excellence in leadership should serve as motivation for others, noting that impactful service can be achieved at all levels of society.
In her speech, Mrs. Halima Usman Tukur emphasized that Alhaji Aminu’s recognition was based on merit, consistency, and measurable impact. She highlighted that under his leadership, PTDF has reformed scholarship systems, strengthened institutional capacity, and expanded practical research opportunities, empowering thousands of Nigerians to contribute meaningfully to national development. “Alhaji Ahmed Galadima Aminu’s career reflects deliberate intention and excellence. From training and departmental leadership to his role as Executive Secretary, he has upheld transparency, meritocracy, and sustainable growth in education and human capital development,” she noted.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and the formal departure of guests. PSNA and its partner organizations reaffirmed their commitment to celebrating leaders whose contributions positively impact communities, institutions, and national development.
