Binos Blasts APC, Says Joining Ruling Party Would Betray Southern Adamawa

Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe has declared that joining the APC would amount to betraying the people of Southern Adamawa, insisting that the continued neglect of the zone by the Federal Government leaves him with “nothing to campaign for” under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The senator, who represents Adamawa South Senatorial District, said he would have considered defecting to the ruling APC if it would guarantee presidential assent to his proposed Federal University of Education (FUE) Numan bill. According to him, after investing years of legislative effort, political capital and resources into the bill, its rejection by the presidency became a painful setback for both him and the people of the zone.

Speaking during the declaration of his intention to seek re-election to the Senate under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Numan, Binos said Southern Adamawa has remained one of the most neglected regions in Nigeria despite comprising nine local government areas.

He lamented the deplorable state of federal roads across the zone and described the refusal to assent to the FUE Numan bill as proof that the APC-led Federal Government has failed the people of Southern Adamawa.

“If they had told me that joining APC would guarantee the passage of the Federal University of Education Numan bill, I would have risked my political future for the interest of my people,” he said.

“But after everything we did at the Senate, the bill was denied assent. How then do I go to my people and campaign for APC? There is practically nothing to show them.”

Binos revealed that he was among the 15 senators who resisted pressure to defect to the ruling party, adding that he also joined the Senate walkout during deliberations on constitutional amendments aimed at stopping electronic transmission of election results.

“I will not be part of history that helped turn Nigeria into a one-party state,” he declared.

“Senatorial representation is a trust. I cannot betray the people who elected me simply to protect my political interest.”

The senator further disclosed that Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri had convened a meeting involving senators, members of the House of Representatives, state lawmakers and other stakeholders to discuss plans to align with the APC, but he stood alone in rejecting the move.

“Everybody agreed to join APC. I was the only one who said no because I cannot defend the suffering and neglect of Southern Adamawa before my people,” he stated.

Binos called on Nigerians opposed to the APC administration to rally behind the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that the survival of democracy depends on preventing the country from sliding into a one-party system.

“Our campaign is simple: APC has not been fair to Southern Adamawa and we cannot support a government that has abandoned our people,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, the Adamawa State Secretary of the ADC, Pwamaddi Shagnah, praised Binos for resisting pressure to defect to the ruling party.

He argued that the ADC remains determined to challenge the APC in 2027 despite what he described as intimidation and political pressure.

“If ADC is not on the ballot in 2027, then democracy has effectively died in Nigeria,” he said.

Director-General of the Binos Campaign Organisation, Katawan Boniface, described the senator as a principled politician who chose the interest of his constituents over personal political gain.

“He had several opportunities to defect, but he remained with the people because he believes democracy must work for Nigerians, not just politicians,” Boniface said.

Party supporters at the gathering unanimously endorsed Binos’ re-election bid and pledged support for the continued push for the establishment of the Federal University of Education, Numan, as well as improved federal infrastructure across Southern Adamawa.

Sen. Binos Donates 500KVA Transformer to Ganye, 13 Other Southern Adamawa Communities

Senator representing Adamawa South, Binos Dauda Yaroe, has donated a 500KVA transformer to the Ganye community and extended similar interventions to 13 other communities across Southern Adamawa, as part of efforts to address chronic power shortages in the area.

Speaking during the commissioning of a transformer at Sabon Kasuwan Tudun Wada in Ganye Local Government Area, Yaroe urged Nigerian politicians to prioritise service over personal ambition, stressing that the essence of politics lies in improving the lives of the people.

According to him, “Any politician who comes into politics without a clear goal to serve will always miss the point, because all good politics is rooted in genuine service.”

The lawmaker lamented the longstanding marginalisation of Southern Adamawa, noting that the zone has suffered from a lack of federal presence, including poor road infrastructure and absence of key institutions.

He also reiterated his refusal to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), arguing that such a move would amount to betraying the interests of his constituents in the absence of tangible federal commitments to the region.

Yaroe disclosed that his proposed bill for the establishment of a Federal University of Education in Numan—one of the earliest bills in the 10th National Assembly—has yet to receive presidential assent, a development he described as disappointing.

Beyond electricity interventions, the senator highlighted his broader constituency projects, including the provision of over 30 boreholes and the organisation of more than 13 major medical outreaches across the zone.

While declining to publicise the exact cost of these interventions, Yaroe hinted that each major medical outreach could exceed ₦60 million, noting that he derives fulfilment from service rather than political showmanship.

“If I wanted applause, I could have spent such resources on handouts like motorcycles and tricycles, but that would not address the real needs of my people,” he said.

He further called on Nigerians to resist what he described as “emerging dictatorial tendencies” under the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, warning against any drift towards a one-party state.

In his remarks, the Gangwari of Ganye, HRH Adamu Umaru Sanda, commended the senator’s interventions, describing him as a model representative whose commitment to grassroots development should serve as a benchmark for others.

Similarly, community leaders and residents expressed gratitude for the intervention, noting that the transformer has restored electricity after more than a year of blackout.

A resident, Modibbo Abdulrazak, described the gesture as timely and impactful, while appealing for additional support in addressing the community’s water challenges.

“We are deeply grateful for this intervention, but we also hope the senator can assist us with boreholes, as access to water remains a major issue,” he said.

Another resident, Mrs Eunice Ethan, said the community had initially assumed the transformer was a government project, only to later discover it was facilitated by the senator.

“We are thankful for this support. It has brought relief to our people, and we hope other leaders will emulate this example,” she added.

The intervention is part of ongoing constituency efforts by Yaroe aimed at improving living conditions in underserved communities across Southern Adamawa.

Ramadan-Lenten Period: Binos Reaches Out To CAN, Muslim Council, Less Privileged Across 9 LGAs

As Muslims and Christians mark Ramadan and Lenten period respectively, observing fasting and dedicating their lives to the service of God Almighty and humanity to mankind, Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, Senator representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial District, having recognized the significance of the season, decided to reach out to the less privileged across the 9 LGAs with food items to ease their fast.

The Senator also saw the need to reach out to the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Muslim Council as part of the measures to ensuring the items reach the target beneficiaries.

Addressing the representatives of the 9 LGAs at the flag-off ceremony, Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe described the moment as critical in the lives of both Christians and Muslims, calling on the believers to utilize the season and pray for peaceful coexistence.

Represented by his Campaign Director-General (DG), Mr. Katawan Boniface, Senator Binos disclosed that no fever than 1,170 bags of rice were distributed, 900 bags of sugar with 450 cartons of Spaghetti and 144 cartons of vegetable oil as well as other food items.

He broke it down, "Each of the 9 LGAs will get 130 bags of rice; making 1,170. And 100 bags of sugar; making 900. We also have 16 gallons of vegetable oil for each LGA; making 144, and 50 cartons of Spaghetti for each of the LGA; making 450. These items are meant for the less privileged in the society".

According to him, the distribution became imperative due to the importance and significance of both Ramadan and Lenten period, where he reiterated his commitment and determination to putting smiles on the faces of his constituents as all time.

Speaking shortly after receiving the items, the Assistant PRO of Muslim Council in Mayo-Belwa LGA, Mal. Abubakar Suleiman, appreciated the kind gesture and promised effective distribution to the target beneficiaries.

While describing Senator Binos as a sincere and honest man who wants the best for his constituents, the Muslim Council representative noted that the food items would go a long way in aiding the Muslims as the Month of Ramadan unfolds.

Also speaking, the Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Mayo-Belwa LGA, Bro. Chris Simon, described the gesture as timely as Christians mark the Lenten period, where he thanked Senator Binos for the kind gesture.

He pointed out that the Christian body would ensure the beneficiaries would be the less privileged in the society, adding that they would continue to pray God Almighty to grant the Senator the desires of his heart.

On his part, the Chairman of People Living With Disabilities (PLWDs), Mal. Abubakar Mohammed Bolto, who could not hide his joy, expressed gratitude to Senator Binos for considering the physically challenged as major beneficiaries of the distribution.

While appealing to the Senator to keep considering them for more benefits during festivities, the PLWDs chair assured the Senator that the food items would go round among his members, both Christians and Muslims alike.

This is not the first time that Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe has reached out to his constituents during festive seasons, especially to the less privileged. This underscores his commitment and determination to putting smiles on the faces of his constituents across the 9 LGAs that constitute Adamawa Southern Senatorial District.

Senator Binos D. Yaroe has Flags-off a mega Free medical outreach in Demsa.

Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe has clarified that the National Assembly, contrary to widespread speculation, approved the electronic transmission of election results during the amendment of the Electoral Act. He insisted that claims to the contrary are misleading and unfounded.

Senator Yaroe made this clarification during the flag-off of a large-scale free medical outreach organised by his office at Demsa Cottage Hospital, where no fewer than 15,000 patients are expected to receive free medical services.

The exercise has drawn a total of 155 medical personnel from across the country, offering specialised consultations, surgeries, and treatments to local communities in the Adamawa South Senatorial Zone.

Addressing journalists on the contentious issue of electronic transmission of results, Senator Yaroe disclosed that, as a member of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, he was actively involved in the review of the 2022 Electoral Act.

He explained that both chambers of the National Assembly, through joint committee engagements, retreats, and consultations held in Abuja and Lagos, unanimously recommended the electronic transmission of election results.

“I was part of the entire process. The joint committees of the Senate and House of Representatives recommended electronic transmission, and that recommendation formed part of the final report presented to the Senate,” Yaroe stated.

He added that an ad-hoc committee later set up to review grey areas in the report also reaffirmed electronic transmission as part of the amended law.

According to him, the confusion arose due to misinterpretation and misinformation, particularly on social media.

He stressed that the Senate leadership, including the Senate President, had publicly confirmed the approval, noting that the matter would be conclusively resolved once the official votes and proceedings are released.

“People should not believe everything they read on social media. We are making progress, not going backwards,” he said.

The senator, who underscored the importance of healthcare intervention as a critical aspect of leadership, said the free medical outreach was part of his commitment to serve constituents who lack access to quality healthcare. He revealed that similar outreaches had been conducted in other local government areas, some more than once.

“One patient told us he was referred to Gombe and asked to pay N500,000, but he received free treatment today,” he said.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Chief Felix B. Tangwami (represented by the Principal Medical Officer of Demsa Cottage Hospital, Dr. Mivinya Pongri), praised the senator’s initiative, describing it as a practical demonstration of his love for the people.

He conveyed Governor Fintiri’s appreciation and reaffirmed the state’s resolve to support interventions that reduce untreated medical conditions and prevent avoidable complications.

Chief Tangwami commended Senator Yaroe for his compassion and dedication, noting that free medical outreaches help bridge healthcare gaps, provide specialised services to underserved populations, and complement government efforts in preventive care.

He said that since its inception, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration has made healthcare a major priority, investing heavily in infrastructure, equipment, and manpower.

In his speech, the leader of the medical team, Professor Michael Missauno, described the outreach as equivalent to bringing a teaching hospital to Demsa Local Government Area.

He disclosed that over 5,000 patients had already been registered, with more than 50 surgeries successfully conducted. He added that the team plans to treat over 15,000 people before the exercise concludes. He called on other well-meaning Nigerians to complement such efforts, stressing that one individual cannot address all healthcare challenges alone.

Beneficiaries, including Gibson Taraki (who underwent prostate surgery) and Dimas Kechale (treated for hernia), expressed deep gratitude to the senator, saying financial constraints had denied them medical care for over a year. Both urged other political leaders to emulate Senator Yaroe’s humanitarian gesture.

The traditional ruler of Demsa, HRM Alhamdu Gladson Teneke, also lauded the intervention, thanking both the senator and the Adamawa State Government for equipping health facilities and ensuring their effective utilisation. He described health as the foundation of a productive society and prayed for the speedy recovery of all beneficiaries.

Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, has visited the victims of the Lamurde crisis, where he assessed the damage, consoled the victims, and provided them with relief materials.

In response to this development, the people of Bachama and Chobo have commended the Senator for sacrificing his health to visit them and provide relief materials to ease their hardships resulting from the ongoing communal clashes between the two closely related tribes.

They promised him that they would all shead their swords and bury the hatches for peace to prevail in the overall interest of all and for the development of their communities.

According to them, Senator Binos’ visit to the troubled communities despite his health condition as well as provided them with relief packages was a pointer to the fact that he has the interest and wellbeing of his constituents at heart.

Addressing the victims of the crisis when he visited Rigange and Sabon-Layi in Lamurde LGA as well as the displaced camp at Gamadio community in Numan LGA on Thursday, Senator Binos stressed the need for the tribal people of Bachama and Chobo to live in peace and harmony, if the long-standing history of their brotherhood is anything to go by.

He noted that crisis and sickness are enemies to societal development, hence the need for them to bury the hatches and let bye gones be bye gones in the interest of all and sundry.

The People’s Senator said that he provided relief materials for them as a way of ‘avoiding visiting the sick with empty hands’, where he promised them more legislative response.

In his words, “I was in sickbed when the recent crisis occurred. Since I was unable to present the case before the Senate, I asked my colleague and brother, Senator Yohanna Amos from the Adamawa State Northern Senatorial District to do that on my behalf. Unfortunately, he was not allowed to present it.

“Thank God I am getting better. When recession resumes, I will demand an explanation why my colleague was denied the right to present the matter for the Senate. I will do my best to ensure legislative aids reach all of you. I call on you to embrace peace and tolerate one another”.

Senator Binos pointed out that he decided to visit the troubled communities in order to get firsthand information and on-the-spot assessment to enable him present the case effectively in the floor of the Senate.

At Gamadio community, the Camp Leader, Mr Banis Kim, thanked Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, for seeing the need to visit them despite the fact that he was just discharged from the hospital and provide them with relief materials.

He assured the Senator that they would play their part towards reconciliation and peaceful coexistence between them and their Chobo brothers and sisters.

At Sabon-Layi community, Chobo representative, Mr Daniel Kefas, expressed gratitude to Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe for taking it upon himself to visit them despite having some health challenges within the past weeks.

He also assured the Senator of working with their Bachama brothers and sisters towards reconciliation and peaceful coexistence for the betterment of their respective communities.
Also speaking, the District Head of Rigange, Kpana Linus Ishaya Anonoma, thanked Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe for coming to their aid, where he stressed the need for peaceful coexistence between Bachama and Chobo ethnic nationalities.

Represented by his Secretary, Mr Chikauno Audu, the Kpana called on his subjects to embrace peace and harmony, for the betterment of their respective communities and development of Lamurde LGA and Adamawa State as a whole.

Over 4,000 bags of rice were distributed, 100 gallons of vegetable oil, 300 cartons of Spaghetti, 400 pieces of children’s clothes, 300 yards among others.
