16 Days of Activism | Limawa Primary & Secondary School

Today, the Jamil Ahlakim Foundation visited Limawa Primary and Secondary School as part of the global commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
This year’s theme, “Unite to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls,” underscores the urgent need to protect and empower girls in every space — including the digital world.

Our team, engaged the students in meaningful conversations on staying safe, speaking up, and recognizing the signs of potential abuse both online and offline. It was an inspiring and impactful session, especially for the young girls who are learning to advocate for themselves and others.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to for her continuous support and encouragement towards this project, and to all our partners who keep pushing the mission forward.
Together, we will continue to raise awareness, protect every girl’s voice, and work tirelessly to end all forms of violence.

Let’s unite. Let’s speak up. Let’s protect our girls.

On this International Day of the Girl Child, Jami Al Hakeem Foundation reaffirms its unwavering commitment to protecting and promoting the rights of every girl to learn, lead, and live with dignity.

Through initiatives like the Girls for Girls (G4G) clubs and menstrual hygiene support, we continue to create safe spaces where girls can grow in confidence, leadership, and purpose — ensuring that no girl is left behind.

With the support of the Malala Fund, our mission to advance gender equality in education remains stronger than ever.
Because when we invest in girls, we invest in the future.

Today, as the world marks the International Day of the Girl Child, Jami Al Hakeem Foundation joins the global community in reaffirming its commitment to ensuring that the rights, education, and empowerment of girls are not only recognized — but actively protected and promoted.

In line with this vision, our team visited Government Girls Junior Secondary School, Mayo Belwa, where we engaged students in a series of Girls for Girls (G4G) club activities. The G4G initiative creates a safe space for girls to express themselves, build confidence, and learn vital life and leadership skills that prepare them to become changemakers in their communities.

As part of our effort to promote menstrual hygiene and support girls to stay in school with dignity, sanitary pads were distributed to all participating students. This act reinforces our belief that no girl should miss school or feel excluded because of her menstrual cycle.

These activities are part of our ongoing work supported by the Malala Fund , aimed at advancing the domestication of the National Policy on Gender in Education and ensuring that every girl — regardless of background — has access to safe, inclusive, and quality education.

At Jami Al Hakeem Foundation, we believe that when girls are educated and empowered, entire societies rise.

Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders in Yola

Last week in Yola, the Jamialhakeem Foundation, with generous support from the Malala Fund, hosted a powerful edition of the Girls for Girls (G4G) Club — a platform designed to equip young girls with the leadership skills, confidence, and community support they need to thrive.

This session brought together adolescent girls from across the area to participate in inspiring leadership dialogues, practical skills training, and confidence-boosting exercises. From public speaking to small business demonstrations, the girls embraced every opportunity to learn, lead, and support one another.

The G4G Club, supported by the Malala Fund , is rooted in the belief that investing in girls’ education and leadership is one of the most effective ways to strengthen communities. In Yola, we witnessed firsthand the power of safe, inclusive spaces to spark transformation.

Special appreciation goes to our partners — the Nigeria Education in Emergencies Working Group and the Adamawa State Government — for standing with us to create lasting impact in the lives of girls.

Together, we are shaping a future where girls have the tools, voice, and confidence to lead change.

Jamialhakeem Foundation recently conducted a step-down training in Kellumuri community, focusing on peacebuilding and raising awareness on environmental hygiene. During the training, participants engaged in sensitization sessions around peaceful coexistence and took part in cleaning exercises aimed at improving the hygiene of their surroundings.

The outcome of the training was encouraging, as members of the community expressed gratitude and joy. One of the participants shared, “We are happy to see people like yours reminding us about peacebuilding and keeping our environment clean.”

However, some challenges were noted. These included a pending payment for some aspects of the training and the lack of taburma (local tools) needed to carry out environmental cleaning activities effectively.

Jamialhakeem Foundation remains committed to empowering communities with the knowledge and tools to promote peace, health, and sustainable living.

Building Leadership, Confidence, and Community – One Girl at a Time

Last week in Mubi South - Adamawa State and Maiduguri - Borno State, Jamialhakeem Foundation hosted an empowering session of the Girls for Girls (G4G) Club — a safe, inclusive space where young girls are learning to lead, speak up, and shape their futures with boldness and pride.

From leadership talks and peer mentoring, to practical sessions in skills like catering and public speaking, the activities were not just engaging but life-shaping. These vibrant girls didn’t just show up — they participated, learned, and inspired us all with their energy, curiosity, and resilience.

With support from Fund , this initiative is part of our commitment to creating opportunities where girls can discover their voices and explore their potential, regardless of their background. Because when you invest in a girl, you empower an entire community.

Together, we’re raising a generation of confident, informed, and unstoppable young women.
