The aim and objectives of the Council are to:
a) inculcate, reactivate, promote and maintain Islamic moralities and Allah’s consciousness among Muslims of all ages and sexes and encourage intellectual and religious activities and ideas of Islam,
b) encourage cooperation, understanding and mutual respect among Muslims and Islamic organizations as spelt out in the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah of the Holy
Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H),
c) provide effective and dynamic leadership for Muslims in the State in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah,
d) serve as the watch-dog and defender of all Muslims and Islamic values and interest. e) ensure uniform observance of Islamic rites including festivals throughout Adamawa State,
f) promote better understanding of the practice of Islam and facilitate a friendly relationship among Muslims and non-Muslim of Adamawa State in accordance with the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah. In pursuance to the foregoing, the Council shall organize lectures, sermons, exhibitions, conferences, classes and other similar activities in order to project the true image of Islam. The Council shall also use mass media and ICT in discharging the foregoing activities. g) encourage the establishment of institutions of learning where Islamic Religion and culture, as well as Arabic language and other subjects of general education are to be taught,
h) establish and run hospitals, dispensaries of all categories for care of the sick,
i) encourage the legitimate economic activities of all Muslims. j) hold, acquire and dispose off any property whether movable or immovable,
k) serve as a channel of contact with the Government of Adamawa State, Local Government Councils and Traditional Institutions on matters affecting Muslims and Islam. l) collect and distribute Zakkat for and on behalf of Muslims in accordance with the provisions of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet (S.A.W),
m) Any other issue or matter relating to the achievement of the Council’s aim and objectives.
