BAYELSA GOVT CONDOLES WITH FORMER DEPUTY GOVERNOR PEREMOBOWEI EBEBI AT FATHER'S FUNERAL

The Acting Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, at the weekend, led a high-powered delegation to the funeral of the late Chief Simon Micah Ebebi, the Alei of Aleibiri and father of the former Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Peremobowei Ebebi.

Other top dignitaries in attendance were the former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson; the Minister of Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Chief Abraham Ingobere, the Chief of Staff Government House, Yenagoa, Pastor Peter Akpe and State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Solomon Agwanana.

In his sermon at the funeral mass drawn from Matthew Chapter 25, the Bishop of Bomadi Catholic Diocese, Most Reverend, Hyacinth Egbebo, underscored the eternal benefits of giving alms to the poor, shelter to the destitute, clothing the naked as well as visiting and providing care to the sick.

Bishop Egbebo enjoined Christians to uphold the truth at all times, stressing that what one does to his neighbours would determine whether one would make heaven or not after one's earthly sojourn

Also speaking, the Parish Priest of the SacredHeart Catholic Church, Aleibiri, Rev. Father Methodius Emolade, described the late Chief Simon Ebebi as a respectable leader, committed Christian and a benevolent father.

In his tribute, the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, noted that as the paramount ruler of Aleibiri for several years, the deceased served his people with dignity and honour until his passing.

While commiserating with the Ebebis, the Bayelsa Chief Executive acknowledged the departed nonagenarian's dedication to education, adding that the late Alei was able to touch the lives of countless students as a qualified teacher.

The leadership and members of the Douye Diri I know Campaign Organization/Foundation paid a condolence/support visit to late Mr. Jason Tarilayefa Awani's family.
..The team were received by the family.

The visit was to condole/support late Mr. Jason Tarilayefa Awani's two(2) children and his immediate family.

The spokesperson of the team, Mr Job Edeintu appreciated the family for receiving the organization and went further to take the family down the memory lane and legacies of their dear late son, how Mr. Jason was committed member of the organization. Despite his health conditions, he was still very active in the organization till his last days on earth.

The spokesperson of the family welcomed the organization and expressed deep gratitude that the organization which their late son was a member, show great concern to pay solidarity to their family

The team leader of the organization, Mr Akpos John Ebisienmukomor also made emphasize on his personal relationship with the deceased, how late Jason was a selfless individual, who is ready to sacrifice his last for his friends, he also referred Late Jason as the brain box of the organization and commended his intellectuality.

The deceased mother appreciate the team wholeheartedly stating that it was a great loss to her and her family.
She said, "I can no longer see my son again, but my greatest joy is was that my son accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior, before he died." she further said a life without Christ will definitely end in crises.

The team leader ended the meeting by pledging to pay one term school fees for the son of late Mr. Jason Tarilayefa Awani and presented a brown envelope to the family from the organization.

Gov. Diri Approves N80,000 New Minimum Wage For Bayelsa Civil Servants
*Retirees Get Monthly Pension Raise, N7bn For Gratuity Arrears

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has approved the sum of N80,000 as the new minimum wage for workers in the state’s civil service with effect from November 1, 2024.

Governor Diri also approved an increase in the monthly pension of retired workers as well as N7billion to reduce outstanding gratuity liabilities.

His spokesperson, Daniel Alabrah, who disclosed these in a statement, said the Bayelsa governor acknowledged the challenging times workers face in the state due to the rise in the cost of living.

The statement read: “To address the harsh times and in line with the National Minimum Wage (Amendment Act 2024), the Prosperity Administration of His Excellency Senater Douye Diri has approved the sum of N80,000 as minimum wage for the state’s workers

“Governor Diri also approved an increase in the monthly pension of state retirees.

“The related consequential adjustments for the various sectors, as agreed with the leadership of Labour in the state, will be implemented.

“To further ameliorate the challenges of our retired senior citizens, His Excellency also approved the payment and reduction of the outstanding gratuity liabilities by Seven Billion Naira.”

Governor Diri appreciated the workers and their leadership for their understanding, patience and commitment to the policies and programmes of the Prosperity Government.

Courtesy call on Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe, immediate past Spokesman, Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide and coordinator of the New Era Movement.

The leadership and executives of The Douye Diri I know Foundation / campaign Organization paid a courtesy / thank you call on Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe at his yenagoa office on Tuesday, 06th August 2024.

The team headed by Comr. Akpos John Ebisemokemor through their spokesperson Ayibaefiye God'stime Ambayama thanked Comr. Ekerefe for his tremendous achievements, service to humanity and Ijaw youths to be specific, both in public service and through numerous platforms.

Going forward, the assistant chief press secretary, Mrs Trinity Wadiri went on to give a synopsis on the group's operandi and the journey so far.

The team leader Comr. Akpos John Ebisemokemor rounded it off with a plea to the youth leader to key into the Ideologies of the foundation and to also carry them along in future endeavors to come.

In response Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe thanked the team for the August visit, also pointing it out that it was his first official engagement since leaving office as the Spokesman Ijaw Youth Council. He further went on to admonish all members of the team to be steadfast and ready to work for the greater good of humanity.

Thanking the team for recognizing the roles he played in the reelection of the current governor, he further went on to portress that it was for the good of bayelsans that HE. Was returned.

The leadership of The Douye Diri I know Foundation/ Campaign Organization paid a courtesy / familiarization call at the residence of Hon. Moses Shopware, a proud ayamasan and bayelsan who is putting in all it takes for the betterment of Bayelsa youths.

The team were recieved in high spirits as they made their eulogies and also appeals to the leader.

Hon. Moses Shopware responded by taking the team down memory lane as far back as 2019 when the team officially launched their campaign of which he remains a strong member and supporter till date. He also advised the team to be steadfast and keep their eyes and minds set to greater goals as he is rest assured that the proactive measures taken by the current Governor Douye Diri led prosperity Government would yield greater results as the years go by.

The team leader, Comr. Akpos John Ebisemokemor thanked the leader for both his hospitality, accessibility and fatherly role through the years up until date.

The leadership and members of the Douye Diri I Know Foundation / Campaign Organization paid a courtesy call on Mr. Pinaowei Clark.

Mr Pinaowei Clark, an exemplary leader and an ebedebiri offspring has worked tirelessly putting in the extra time to ensure the smooth running of the affairs that concern the team and therefore it was deemed right to pay an appreciative visit at his abode.

The spokesman of the organization, Master Ayibaefiye God’stime Ambayama thanked Mr Pinaowei for honoring the team’s august visit on such a short notice and also went on to give a prologue on the team’s formation and the journey so far.

The baton was handed over to the Chief press Secretary, master Jason Tarilayefa Awani who went on to explain to the leader that although the team had been putting in all it takes to continue promoting the affairs of the government, they have not received the required support/ accolades to keep spirits high as needs may be and pleaded with the leader to always have members of the organization in mind if the need arises for any one to be added in any work force.

As the discussion went on Master Benjamin Oyakemeagbegha Godspower, the Legal consultant of the team went on to portress on the points raised by previous speakers alongside Mrs Trinity Wadiri the assistant chief Press Secretary who went on to take the leader down memory lane to the nembe incidence of 2019 of which all our members were eye witnesses.

Finally the team leader, Comr. Akpos John Ebisemokemor rounded up the discuss with gratitude to the leader and informing him of ideas and policies enroute from the organization to be revealed to the public soon.

In Response, master Pinaowei Clark thanked the team for their efforts and sacrifice in defending a just cause, also placing emphasis on the fact that the Current Governor had set a template worthy of emulation by other states as he has the affairs of the state running more smoothly than counterpart states.

Meeting Honorable Alfred Kemepado Nimizigha, The Honorable Commissioner for Youth Development, Bayelsa State.

It was truly a thing of joy as the leadership and members of the Douye Diri I know Foundation/ campaign organization stormed the office of the Honorable commissioner for Youth development, Honorable Alfred Kemepado Nimizigha on the 25th of July 2024.

The visit was to officially congratulate him on his new feat and also to dialogue on issues affecting the organization, the first speaker, master ambayama opened the floor with eulogies to the commissioner, whilst the second speaker, master Benjamin oyaz also went on to explain how long the organization has been in existence and also how long they have been following the activities of the commissioner from his time in IYC up until Amnesty and now this new feather.

Mrs Trinity took up the mantle to plead with the commissioner to carry the team (The Douye Diri I know Foundation) along in the policies and agendas of the ministry.

Having said all that the commissioner appreciated the visit and congratulations from the team and also promised that the team will officially be tasked with activities that concerns youths in Bayelsa and in diaspora.

The team leader Comr, Akpos John Ebisemokemor ended the meeting with a vote of thanks, also placing emphasis on issues raised by the 3 first speakers.
