As we conclude the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, I am grateful for the opportunity to represent Learning and Life Aid Foundation and engage with global stakeholders advancing the rights and opportunities of women and girls.

During the session, I participated in strategic dialogues and side events with policymakers, civil society leaders, and development partners working collectively to strengthen gender equality frameworks worldwide.

On the margins of CSW70, I also had the privilege of engaging with Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, representatives of the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations led by Syndoph Paebi Endoni, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., and other distinguished dignitaries committed to advancing gender equality priorities.

These engagements further strengthen our work through the W-CARE Hub (Women’s Climate Recovery and Rights Access Hub) initiative supporting women and girls in climate-vulnerable communities.

CSW70 reinforced the importance of translating global dialogue into meaningful local impact, and I look forward to continuing collaboration that advances opportunities for women and girls.

Today marks an important milestone for Learning and Life Aid Foundation.

LALAF has been officially licensed by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) as an authorized export entity.

This is more than compliance. It strengthens our capacity to connect women farmers in the Niger Delta to structured markets, formal value chains, and export-ready systems.

For us, export is not just about commodities - it is about economic inclusion, strengthened agricultural production, and building sustainable pathways for women and youth.

We appreciate the Director of Culture & Women Affairs at the Niger Delta Development Commission, Mrs. Ahuna Imoni, for the opportunity to participate in the NEPC program.

The work continues with clarity, structure, and intention.

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has certified tax-deductible corporate donations made to the Learning And Life Aid Foundation, a charity organization established by Lilian Alaere Ebifegha.

Accordingly, FIRS issued a tax-deductible donations certificate to Learning And Life Aid Foundation in Abuja. In a statement on Sunday, the foundation announced that corporate organizations donating to it will now enjoy relief under its new status, allowing them to deduct their donations from taxable profits.

FIRS issues such tax-deductible donations to carefully vetted registered charities whose operations meet Nigeria’s statutory ‘public character’ requirements. Section 25(c) of the Companies Income Tax Act (CITA) permits companies that make charitable donations to charities with tax-deductible donations certificates to a ‘donation relief’.

The donation relief provision aims to encourage Nigeria’s corporate bodies to channel their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) donations to carefully-vetted non-governmental bodies, associations, and institutions engaged in life-changing, socially-relevant projects.

Founded by Lilian Alaere Ebifegha in August 2020, the Learning And Life Aid Foundation is a charity with operations in Nigeria and the United States. Since its launch in August 2020, the foundation has impacted the lives of Nigerians.

Lilian expressed delight over the certificate to Learning And Life Aid Foundation and the organization’s new status.

She noted that the issuance of the certificate by the federal tax body is a recognition of the organization’s strides over the years as well as its commitment to changing the lives of vulnerable Nigerians.
