*Yenagoa, Bayelsa State* – An awe-inspiring display of unity, hope, and fervor swept through Oxbowlake in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, as an immense crowd of enthusiastic supporters and citizens gathered to celebrate the grand finale of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) campaign. Beyond the realm of politics, this event became a spirited celebration of the future, showcasing a diverse tapestry of individuals crafting an unforgettable moment in history.
The display of various support groups and entertainment personalities , further added to the grandeur of this live PDP campaign grand finale. The excitement in the air was palpable, as the crowd eagerly awaited the arrival of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri.
The star-studded list of attendees included The PDP National Team, Governors from across the country, Senators, Reps members, The State PDP team, Assembly members, Commissioners etc .
The esteemed Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, was joined by His Excellency Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, and Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, former Bayelsa State Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West. In addition, the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, and a host of other distinguished guests graced the occasion, enhancing the magnificence of this historic gathering.
Senator Dickson, who warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, shared his confidence in Governor Diri's leadership and urged the people to cast their votes in support of him on November 11th. He highlighted the remarkable work done by Governor Diri during the state-wide campaign, reaffirming his belief in Diri's victory.
In his words “The coast is clear”
The acting National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party, H.E Umar Damagum, handed over the party flag to Senator Douye Diri, symbolizing their optimism for victory in the upcoming November 11th election. Damagum voiced his strong confidence in Diri's effective governance, recognizing him as one of the accomplished Governors in the South-South region. He passionately urged the people of Bayelsa to cast their votes in support of Senator Douye Diri and the PDP on November 11th.
In his statement, Governor Douye Diri emphasized that Bayelsa’s terrain is not insurmountable when it comes to development but rather a terrain that demands development. In his words,
“Our Terrain is not a Terrain that can not be developed, it is a terrain that must be developed “
This perspective underscores the importance of actively working towards the progress and growth of the Bayelsa by the Prosperity Government . Diri's commitment to development suggests a proactive approach to addressing unique challenges and opportunities within the terrain of Bayelsa State, ultimately aiming to improve the quality of life for the people and spur economic and social advancements.
Governor Diri also urged Bayelsans to come out on the Saturday, 11th November, 2023 to vote and defend their votes after casting it stating that nobody will harm them as the security personals are on high alert.
