The project began in the 2021 to 2022 Rotary year under the leadership of the then Club President and current Assistant Governor, Engr Ebi Timi S Maxwell It was upgraded to a solar-based system under the current administration to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
The District Governor charged the school authorities and the wider community, represented by a delegate of the Paramount Ruler, to take full ownership of the facility and protect it from theft or vandalism. The DG noted that the project is a part of Rotary's commitment to support Basic Education and Literacy, enhance Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and to prevent avoidable diseases such as cholera.
