Today, we join the global community in celebrating World Wildlife Day under the theme Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods.
We are reminded that protecting our wildlife means protecting our future. Our mangrove ecosystems are more than coastal forests — they are nurseries for food, medicines, sources of traditional knowledge, and lifelines for local communities.
This World Wildlife Day, we reaffirm our commitment to:
1. Conserving biodiversity
2. Protecting coastal and marine ecosystems.
3. Empowering communities through sustainable livelihoods Coastal and Marine Areas Development Initiative
4. Promoting environmental education and research through Institute of Mangrove Ecology and Environmental Technology
Together, we can ensure that our natural heritage continues to heal, nourish, and sustain generations to come.
