Our first post since 2016!
God is the Equalizer! He balances the equation. Your path may not have been straight—it may have felt like you were just going in circles. But rest assured, you will end up exactly where you’re meant to be.
When a shepherd leads his sheep, his goal is to take them to the mountaintop, a place of rest. But here’s the thing—sheep aren’t mountain goats! They can’t climb straight up, so the shepherd takes them on winding paths that wrap around the mountain, little by little, until they reach the top.
Now, imagine being one of those sheep. You’d probably feel like you’re just going in circles. Tired. Frustrated. Watching the goats climb straight up and wondering, “Why can’t we do that?” (Because let’s be honest, sheep are always wandering, trying to figure things out on their own—only to get stuck and need the shepherd to rescue them! 🤣).
What the sheep don’t realize is that with every step, they are actually climbing higher. Their altitude is changing. Their burdens are dropping. Yes, they may stumble, but the shepherd is always there, using his rod to pull them back on course. Around, around, on top, on top—without wasted energy, without unnecessary struggle. And when they finally reach the top, they arrive with:
1️⃣ Wisdom of the journey,
2️⃣ Strength for the days ahead,
3️⃣ Peace for the work ahead.
And guess what? They meet those goats at the top—and overtake them! Because they had a shepherd who had a plan all along.
That’s how it is with God. He may not always reveal the full picture, and even when He does, He won’t always show you the trials and detours along the way. And in those moments, it’s hard to see any good coming from it. But Psalm 18 reminds us:
“For Thou wilt light my candle; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by Thee I have run through a troop, and by my God I have leaped over a wall!”
God is more ambitious for you than you could ever be for yourself! So rest assured. Cry if you must, wail if you need to—but then wipe your eyes and trust God! 🤣
There’s no emotion I don’t take to Him—He’s my Father, and He knows exactly how dramatic He made me! 🤣💛
