In today's fast-evolving financial landscape, fund managers face increasing pressure to deliver optimal returns while complying with tightening regulatory frameworks. This intensive 2-day Masterclass is designed to equip professionals with practical strategies for managing and optimizing fixed income funds and portfolios, ensuring alignment with investor expectations and regulatory demands.
Why This Training Matters Now:
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently mandated stricter adherence to mark-to-market valuation for all registered collective investment schemes (CIS), underscoring the need for transparent and fair asset pricing. This regulatory shift makes it imperative for fund managers to not only value portfolios accurately but also optimize them to protect and enhance investor value.
With fixed income markets becoming more dynamic and investor demands more sophisticated, mastering fund optimization is no longer optional β€” it's a competitive necessity.
Objectives:
β€’ Deepen participants’ understanding of fixed income fund structures, instruments, and strategies
β€’ Explore advanced portfolio optimization techniques tailored to varying risk-return profiles
β€’ Interpret and implement the latest SEC directives on mark-to-market valuation
β€’ Enhance the decision-making process for yield generation, duration management, and risk mitigation
Training Fee
N120,000 (One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira)
Group booking discount is available for participants from one organisation or group of companies as stated below:
β€’ 3 participants – 5%
β€’ 5 participants – 7.5%
β€’ 10 participants – 10%

πŸ“’ SEC Approves 2-Year Transition from HTM to MTM for Fund Managers

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has directed all Fund Managers to gradually adopt the Mark-to-Market (MTM) methodology for valuing fixed income investments, moving away from the Held-to-Maturity (HTM) model.

πŸ”Ή What this means:
Starting 22 September 2025, fund managers will begin a 2-year transition period to align fixed income funds with daily market-based pricing.

πŸ’‘ Key Difference:

HTM (Held-to-Maturity): Values bonds at purchase price + interest. Stable, but may not reflect real-time market value.

MTM (Mark-to-Market): Values bonds at daily market prices. Reflects real value but comes with day-to-day volatility.

βœ… Benefit: MTM provides transparency and helps investors make informed decisions.
