Tickets for the 2nd Global Biennial Summit for African Art & Culture are now live.

Chasing The Wind While Losing Daylight
21–22 October 2026 · Ibadan, Nigeria

This year we are gathering in a village square meeting style. Emerging practitioners and established cultural leaders will sit, eat and converse as equals.

Two ways to attend:
Full Summit Pass, ₦80,000. Both days, lunch and snacks, a curated Ibadan cultural tour, and a theatrical performance.

Summit Day Pass, ₦35,000. October 22nd only. Full day, lunch and snacks, conversation circles and cultural encounters.

We also made space for those who have, to help those who cannot afford to attend. You can help fund subsidised seats for emerging artists and researchers directly, from ₦400,000 for five seats to ₦1,600,000 for twenty. This ensures that the ability to pay to attend, should not decide those who gets to shape what comes next.

Anyen Iyak Foundation in collaboration with IFRA Nigeria , is proud to present the selected fellows for the Researching Heritage Workshop: Introduction to Cultural Research Methodologies for Emerging Cultural Researchers.

Over the week, our seasoned facilitators would take them through the theoretical foundations of research and guided fieldwork; enabling the participants build real and practical skills in oral history, ethical documentation, and community centred research methods.

We are pleased to present the 2nd Global Biennial Summit for African Art & Culture.

In this edition, we convene in Ibadan; at New Culture Studios, a ground shaped by Demas Nwoko's imagination.

The Global Biennial Summit is a touring gathering of institutions and individuals working across the African art and cultural ecosystem and its diaspora. It creates space to examine where we have come from, where we are now, and - perhaps most importantly - what kind of ecosystem we want to build next.

Anyen Iyak Foundation for Art and Culture is proud to congratulate , an exceptional visual artist from Akwa Ibom, on his nomination for Johnny Depp’s The People Artist Award. Based in Washington, D.C., Victor Ekpuk is internationally recognised for his contemporary reinterpretation of Nsibidi, the ancient Nigerian system of communication, through paintings, drawings, and sculptures that explore history, identity, and the African diaspora.

The award, presented in support of The Art of Elysium, celebrates artists using creativity to inspire impact and community connection. We encourage everyone to support Victor Ekpuk by voting for him through the link in his bio.

Postcards from Uyo

We begin this year’s series at the Ibibio Unity Museum; a custodian of Akwa Ibom’s rich cultural heritage!

The museum is a cultural hub dedicated to preserving the history, traditions, and artifacts of the Ibibio people. It showcases art, sculpture, and historical exhibits, highlighting the legacy of the Ibibio Union and the region’s heritage.

Through these images, we step into a living archive where the past informs the present and further reconnect with our roots.
