We’re excited to share that members of YALI Network AkwaIbom participated in a two-day Training Programme on Oil and Gas Industry-Related Vocational Skills for Youths in Akwa Ibom State!

The training, commissioned by the Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board (NCDMB), brought together young people for practical learning and exposure to opportunities beyond the traditional pursuit of white-collar jobs in the oil and gas sector.

Our members were invited to participate through Hussein Nuhu Isa, a fellow YALI member and the Implementing Project Manager for the programme in Akwa Ibom State.

It was an enriching experience as participants explored industry-related vocational opportunities, workplace safety, emotional intelligence, and the mindset required to thrive in the oil and gas space.

Beyond the learning, the programme provided an avenue for meaningful networking and broader career exposure, reminding us that opportunities in the oil and gas industry extend far beyond the office.

We’re proud of our members for showing up, learning, engaging professionally while exploring new possibilities.

Here’s to building skills, expanding perspectives and preparing for the future!

Media Highlights of YALI Network AkwaIbom Hub's September Face to Face Meeting

Yesterday, Sunday, 13th September 2026 YALI Akwa Ibom Hub held its September Face-to-Face Meeting at Discovery Park, Udo Umana, Uyo, themed "Rights, Responsibilities and Nation Building, The Power of an Informed Citizen.”

The gathering brought members, guests, and first-timers together to interact, network, learn and strengthen their knowledge and contributions to Nation Building.

Members relearn their rights, roles and expectations as informed citizens, they are also exposed to various ways knowledge, information and strategic engagement in governance, advocacy and conscious efforts can position them for aligning roles and lasting impact in their communities, nation and World.

Mr Faith Paulinus, our guest Facilitator who made the session quite interactive and relatable using personal stories, charged the audience on responsible citizenry, strategic positioning, impactful collaboration as they navigated issues of national building and most especially the electioneering period.

The meeting which was highly attended has among other members our Former State Coordinator, Mr Loveday Mcjolly, who inspiringly spurred the audience to a timely initiative coming up soonest.

With moderation from the State Coordinator, Remedy Effiong and the Deputy, Barrister Promise Ochibry the meeting was worthwhile and engaging as members and guests learn, catch up and chat new ways forward for themselves, the Hub, their communities, and the nation.

World Humanitarian Day 2026 🌍

Today, we celebrate people who choose to care, serve and show up for others.

World Humanitarian Day reminds us that humanity is not only about what we feel, but also about what we do.

Across communities, humanitarian workers, volunteers and everyday people continue to support those facing difficult circumstances.

Sometimes, helping means providing food or shelter. Other times, it means teaching a child, listening to someone, supporting a vulnerable person, speaking up for others or simply being present when it matters.
